Jeanne is a fantastic host with a special personality. Her accommodation was pristine. The location is close to the airport, the Kigali center and the Amahoro National Stadium. She made us to feel at home and was readily available to help us round Kigali. i hereby recommend her accommodation. We miss you Jeanne. Please be rest assured we shall use your accommodation when next we visit Kigali. God bless you

Great house in a local neighborhood. I stayed for 3 weeks with my family of 6 (four kids aged from 9 to 2). We rented the entire house, though usually only used 3 of the 5 bedrooms. It was a great location for us to use to explore Kigali. It's in a neighborhood in Remera, just off the road by Amohoro Stadium. Remera is a neighborhood predominantly occupied by locals and has bars, grocery stores, small local shops, banks, etc. We were often the only tourists in the neighborhood, which made us a curiosity (especially with 4 children). The neighborhood is safe, and I had no reservations about walking home after dark with our children in tow. It's a 15 minute walk to the Kimironko market, and an 8 minute walk to the center of Remera where the shops and grocery stores are. My family was happy walking these distances, and used taxis to get to other locations within Kigali. A taxi to the city center was about 5k RWF ($5.50 USD). Be prepared to negotiate if you're a mzungu, or have the hostess pre-arrange a rate. Motorbikes are much cheaper if you're traveling with fewer people and/or children. The house itself is a blend of African style with western amenities. Western style things: hot water showers and a refrigerator. African style things: an outdoor kitchen and "wet" bathrooms. My family enjoyed spending time on the front porch, lounging on the couches, and gathering in the dining room to eat. The kitchen is split in African style with a microwave and other bits in the dining room, and an oven/stove outside. The hostess, Jeanne, is what sets this house apart from the rest. She was _very_ warm and welcoming to my family. She lived in the USA for many years, so she understands both cultures. This was invaluable in helping to get a glimpse into the local culture. Jeanne was always available to help out, and would go out of her way to help us with problems, navigation, etc. We asked her about Umuganda (the monthly Rwandan neighborhood cleanup day) and she invited us to come along to see what it was about. The neighbors were as curious about us as we were about them, so it was a fun cultural exchange and we helped out the community. If you're hungry, during our stay she was also starting a small restaurant just outside the house. The menu was in flux, but we enjoyed stopping in for the occasional affordably priced lunch plate. We have fond great memories of Rwanda, in no small part due to the kindness and assistance of our hostess. I'd happily stay here again with my family if I return to Kigali :)
