DeeWake Paradise is indeed a paradise. It’s such an enclave and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the nearby township of Kokrobite. The reception from Godwin the caretaker was excellent. He was very attentive to our needs and was very respectful of our privacy. The place was secured and the amenities provided was more than adequate for our stay. We were especially glad for a working Wi-Fi. It was like a home away from our home in the US. I highly recommend Deewake Paradise to anyone. It’s an excellent place to stay for a vacation in Ghana.

we booked this family house for 3 weeks in Ghana. all the size of the house is large enough to accommodate six people, there were many problems with the home. this included the toilet overflowing, and the water running out on numerous occasions. in addition there was not adequate lighting and many outlets did not work. they did not provide access to towels and sheets so we had to continually ask for the sheets to be and towels to be washed. the place was filthy. the air conditioner in the living room was broken and this made it very hot and stuffy in the house. however there was air conditioning in the bedrooms. I was hoping to be able to buy groceries and cook in the kitchen to save money, but the kitchen is not well supplied. nor is it well organized. pots and pans were on a top shelf, obviously people staying here do not cook. I had to purchase a coffee mug as there were none provided. I also had to go out to buy a spatula and a bottle opener and lighter. the stove was difficult to figure out how to use especially for someone coming from America. also they do not provide internet beyond a few gigabytes, we had to continually go purchase more data, and would have appreciated knowing the situation and this expense before we arrived. there was no cleaning during our entire 3 weeks day. the bathtub was completely filthy after coming and going to the beach. the best part of this location is its closeness to Bojo Beach which has a lovely Beach and the ocean is very calm and warm ideal for children. Though it has a pool at the hotel, only guests of the hotel can swim, even if you buy lunch there. The description says they're a 5 star, but I'd give it only 1 star. There's a manager on the premises, who helped with various issues such as overflowing toilets and running out of water and broken air conditioner. He actually brought us buckets of cold water to bathe in, due to lack of water. There is no laundry on the premises, so we had to ask Godwin the manager to wash our clothes. We paid him to do this and the clothes ended up ruined with bleach stains all over them, destroying my favorite sweater which had to be thrown away. There are laundromats close by and I would advise you do your own laundry. Also if you are bringing children beware that there is a guard dog who is not child friendly she nips and bites, but she can be tied up in the back of the house. Also behind the house is a construction zone as they are building another unit and swimming pool so it is quite treacherous and dangerous for kids. On a positive note, the security there is excellent with a locked gate a key to the front door and the bedrooms can be locked as well and there is someone on premises most of the time. but this is definitely not a self-check in type of place where everything you need is available. The refrigerator is a bachelor apartment size which does not fit with a three bedroom home accommodating six people. Daddy needs to upgrade the refrigerator and put in a large family style refrigerator since it is mostly going to be a group of people staying here. also there are no spices available no salt, no sugar, no pepper, I had to buy all of these things in order to cook food. There was no dish soap,we had to ask for extra toilet paper, and there were only one towel provided for each person. There's no shampoo or soap in bathroom. I would definitely not stay here again especially since I saw alternative locations in Accra which are much more contemporary, modernwith all the conveniences. I would not recommend this place to anyone. my fiance is from Ghana and he says that while this gives you an idea of how people live in Ghana it is far below even normal standards. we paid $1,500 for 3 weeks in Ghana and I feel that our money could have been better spent elsewhere. Daddy and Godwin and his brother Charles we're very nice and helpful, probably too smooth over all the problems with the house. while they are catering too European and American travelers, they have a lot to do to upgrade this place to make it attractive to Europeans and Americans. the whole place needs a fresh coat of paint, the walls are smudged and dirty. it looks like the place has not been cleaned for months. At any rate, there are far better options available to you for your stay in Accra.

Issues with the water at Dotty's house from the beginning. First no running water, several 'restart the pump' attempts made by onsite assistant. Then a terrible stench / sewage smell emanating from one of the bathrooms. Local 'plumber' came and declared that bathroom needed entire tub to be ripped out to repair massive leak - entire bathroom floor flooded out when taking shower. Gave up, checked out after 2nd night of 5 night stay. Dotty attempted to resolve however the situation was a mess. Not happy with Dotty's attempts to offer refund in local currency at an amount lower than what AirBnB issued. Shady and lame.

Dotty’s place is really a home away from home. I really enjoyed my mornings in the garden. Our host was always swift to help with our needs. Excellent communication and really a value for our money we paid. I can’t wait to spend another lovely time at Dotty’s home again.
