Ranils father in law welcomed us warmly and his breakfast was delusions. the place was very near to sigiriya rock. thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

Ranil's place is well located 4 km from the Lion Rock. The food was excellent - breakfast included. The Dinner was delicious (2 nights) but over priced - especially for our 4 kids who did not eat much. The rooms are quite basic but have AC and hot water which is good.

This is a wonderful place to stay to experience traditional Sri Lankan hospitality. There are plenty of thoughtful touches in the bedrooms and the outside area is very pretty. Nothing is too much trouble for Ranil and he was very helpful at all times giving us good advice on places to visit and the best times to go there. The food was also excellent and he made sure that the dinners and breakfasts were different every day to give us a variety of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Ranil's place is down a narrow lane tucked away from the main road. The garden is lovely, attracting all sorts of wildlife including birds, squirrels and monkeys. Ranil and his father-in-law are great cooks - they prepared delicious meals for us for the three evenings we were there. Breakfasts were also great. There was very little ventilation in the bathroom so it was a bit smelly, however, it was clean as was the bedroom. The beds were very comfortable and the air-conditioning was great to have. Ranil certainly is a Super Host and was very helpful assisting with things to see in the area. We would definitely recommend Ranil's place!

The highlight of our stay at The Courtyard Villa was Ranil and his family’s hospitality. We had the entire villa to ourselves by booking three rooms for our family. The host also lives on-site but guest privacy is well maintained. The hosts are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area too. Our request for an extra bed in one of the rooms was kindly fulfilled. Ranil also helped us organise driver accommodation at short notice. We were asked if we wanted refreshments each time we returned from long day trips which was also a nice touch. The food at the villa was exceptional- one of the best breakfasts we’ve had on our trip. The food was delicious, freshly cooked, and given in generous quantities. A home cooked dinner is also available for a fee if needed. The rooms were clean and modern, each with an en-suite. Great location for exploring the area. We used the villa as a base to explore Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, and Polonaruwa. The turn off for the villa is towards the end of a small gravel road, off the main road, which can be easy to miss. However the name of the villa is signposted at the turnoff and can be found following google maps. I would definitely recommend The Courtyard Villa to everyone.
