Our home feels very private nestled on a hill on 3 acres. We do live on a quiet country road, but are actually walking distance(5-10 min) to a couple restaurants, an ice cream shop, and a gas station. We recommend a vehicle for an extended stay to explore the rest of the area, but you can easily get a cab or if we’re available can drive you for an equivalent fee. There are 2 train stations that we use. Cortlandt is the closest and just 2 minutes drive, but Croton Harmon is also just 6 minutes away. A cab to either is about $8-10. From Croton Harmon, it’s 44 minutes on an express train to Grand Central because it goes direct.
We love where we live because we get the best of the city and country right at our fingertips. While our home has woods and a creek with lots of hiking trails close by and the quietness and tranquility of the country, we can be to the city within an hour. West Chester has a ton of amazing things to do, but we also often go upstate as well. Storm King is just 30 minutes and Beacon just 50 minutes, if you want an easy outing.

There are local taxi companies, Uber, and Lyft all accessible from our property should you need to use them. Being in the country does sometimes take a few minutes longer, so do allow yourself a cushion of 10-15 at least when calling them, so that you avoid any lateness getting where you’re going.
