Apple Tree Cottage is a very old, 2 bedroom thatched cottage on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border situated at the end of a single track lane and moments away from Bentley Wood: an SSSI 1,500 acre nature reserve. This tranquil spot is a great base for people who love wildlife and enjoy walking and cycling in the countryside. Own enclosed garden and parking. 10 minute drive to Salisbury - 40 minutes to Winchester. Close to the New Forest, Stonehenge, Longleat and Peppa Pig World too. The cottage is medieval in origin and one of the oldest buildings in the village but it has been renovated to provide compact and comfortable accommodation. Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen (inc dishwasher and washing machine), bathroom and combined sitting/dining room with chairs for up to x4 people. Upstairs are two cosy rooms in the eaves: one double and a twin. Outside there is a private, enclosed garden with table and seating to sit and enjoy the birdsong and watch the resident swallows swooping in and out of their nests. There is ample parking for two cars on the shared drive at the front of the property. Towels, bedding, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper, oil and loo roll are provided. One well behaved dog is welcome but we ask you to please wipe them down after a walk so they don't take mud into the cottage and onto the new carpet! Due to the remote location, phone signal / 4G may be patchy depending on your provider but there is WIFI available.
