Lize and her husband Mickey are amazing people. The eco-farm and lodging they built in the middle of Jamaica is beautiful, surrounded by nature with a wonderful view of the ocean. The wooden cabins are just what you would expect cozy and comfortable. Lize is an inspiration for everyone that comes in contact with her. She is a wonderful chef and we were treated like family the whole time we were there. Their dogs and cats kept us company and are super sweet companions. We would love to go back to Ocho Rios just to stay with Lize and Mickey a bit more and be inspired by their passion for sustainable living and farming. We highly recommend you stay here if you ever pass by the north coast of Jamaica.

Lise’s place is not as described. The water was not in service for 2 days during my stay. The shower is far from your rm & doesnt have any lights for safety. There are loud neighbors, huge bugs that enter the room via the roof or under the door. THIS IS AN OVER PRICED BARE MINIMUM CAMPING EXPERIENCE. I was interested in seeing the farm but Lise did not share or show any aspect of the farm. The dogs bark all night, some kitchen appliances do not work. The husband was kind enough to offer a ride into town and I was grateful. Lise, warmed food I brought home and prepared it in a metal pan seemingly for dogs. Lise tacks on fees w/o notice and quite literally was rude to take my money after we agreed upon a price. After day 2 of no water, I ended my stay & Lise attempted to keep my money for the remaining days & accused me of wanting to leave for other reasons. There are much better, closer and kinder stays in Ochi. BEWARE and do not use their suggested driver. Lise is rude and corrupt.

I stayed for three nights at Lise and Michael's and it was lovely. I stayed there with my 3 year old daughter and we were both very warmly recieved. The place is absolutely beautiful and the cabin was clean, spacious and had a great bed with mosquito net and private compost toilet. The communal space was really nice to hang out with and there is a kitchen available that is fully equipped. Ride via route taxi into Ocho Rios is just a short walk away. I would definately come back here in the future to stay for a longer period to learn about permaculture and sustainable farming!

Lise,s Place is Amazing. The Octogon Room was Lovely with Amazing Views. Lise was the Perfect Hostess who also makes Amazing Meals. Highly recommended!!!
