There are no words to describe how fabulous our stay with Alain was. Definitely a 5 star experience in every way , from the moment he greeted us with a glass of wine and a slice of sublime quiche ( he is an exquisite chef — breakfast is a treat, and be sure to have him cook dinner one night!) every moment of our stay we felt pampered. The house is immaculate with lots of personal touches to make the stay comfortable. Located in the heart of the village, we walked everywhere easily. Alain is a wealth of information about where to eat, go , etc… and best of all he took us to his local goat cheese farm and tasting with a friend who owns a vineyard, and to the local bar where we shared wine with local winemakers. We travel for the experience, not the “tour” and Alain gave us an experience we truly relished. His experience in the hospitality industry shines through every moment of the stay.

The host, Alain, is "excellence" personified. After reading 62 reviews of prior guests boasting about the 5-star experience Alain provides, I was keen to book a reservation. I have a phobia of germs and lack of cleanliness; Alain's place is a true breath of fresh air. I was very impressed with the care and attention to detail and cleanliness. It is pristine, and I felt completely comfortable with all amenities. In addition, the amenities (e.g., sheet count, bed comfort, towels) were true luxury experiences. It exceeded even some 5-stars I've been to. Alain exceeded any expectations I could have had for host-provided breakfast and coffee. Basically, everything was only the best. I was daily impressed at his desire to provide, and delivery on, a complete luxury experience. He provided fantastic recommendations for things to do around Sancerre, and made sure I was comfortable with information/maps/instructions. I've never experienced such excellence from a AirBnB host.

I can't say enough about Alain's hospitality. What an exceptional host. I had a wonderful tour guide when I asked for assistance, a top-tier chef, and complete privacy when I needed it. I even had a valet service as he saved parking and handled a tricky spot! Alain's location is an easy walk to the village center and the Coeur de France language school!

Séjour extraordinaire avec Alain qui a été au delà de toutes nos attentes. Réception royale avec un bon Sancerre et des petits plats préparés. Un appartement et une chambre magnifique avec un lit digne d’un hôtel 5 étoiles. Un petit déjeuner au top, Alain est un fin cuisinier. Alain a rendu notre séjour inoubliable à Sancerre, d’une extrême flexibilité et un sens du service VIP et luxueux. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés.

We came to stay here on our way home from the South of France with our E bikes to see more of Sancerre for four nights. From the moment we arrived, Alain’s attention to detail shone, nothing was too much trouble. Alain’s home is very sympathetically restored to the highest standard, (his high standard) it’s a very comfortable place to stay, very private, very relaxing, on top of this you have Alain’s wealth of hospitality knowledge, amazing breakfasts every day, a five course supper to remember one evening and a great wine tasting. Sancerre is perfect for a short break, this is our best short break venue ever! Stop looking if you want a treat, just book it. All the things that annoy you about a hotel, Alain has thought of.. way beyond a super host! We are sorry to leave. Thanks Alain and his partner we will be back.
