This peaceful, clean, convenient and wonderfully located country cottage is superb in every way. It’s location, high in the Maramureş hills, affords it quite stunning rural views in all directions- quite breathtaking. The house itself is beautifully and comprehensively furnished and equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing stay. We arrived to be met by Ion and Maria who live about a kilometre away and who hosted us so efficiently and kindly throughout: never intrusive but there when you needed them. They don’t speak English, but a translation app made conversation easy and fun. We got a good mobile signal on the Orange network, and the excellent broadband of 50 Mbps was more than we needed. There were basic foodstuffs ( sugar, salt etc) left in the cupboard and all the appliances you need including a washing machine in a nearby building that Maria helped us use. This amazing holiday home is recommended unreservedly in all respects. One tip: bring some bottled water

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in der Unterkunft von Adrian. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und liegt ganz ruhig. Man hat einen schönen Ausblick auf die Natur rundherum, in der Nacht ist es sehr dunkel und man kann viele Sterne beobachten. Maria und Ioan sind ausgesprochene nette Leute, sie kümmern sich um das Grundstück und um die Gäste. Wir lassen sie ganz herzlich grüßen und können die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Ninga Rai was perfect for our family weekend in Maramures County. Many sights and activities are within a one hour reach, and the cottage itself is in a beautiful place that looks even better than in the pictures. If you want to spend a relaxing weekend or look around in the region, I would highly recommend Adrian’s place when visiting Maramures.

A great place to relax, unwind, and explore the Maramures region. The wooden house is simply outstanding, and we were impressed how intelligently it is refurbished. You got everything you need, bath, kitchen etc. The view from the windows and terrace is like a wallpaper. It's hard to imagine something even more magnificent. I enjoyed the "dedicated workspace", as I was working remotely, and fast internet connection was crucial to me. It was quick and stable (fiber optic), which is hard to imagine in such a secluded place. You can hike around the valley and surrounding areas – very nice walks. The village with a grocery store is within a short walk (like 15 - 20 mins). You also have a local "bar/pub" in the village. I would love to have such a place just for myself! Hope we will come back here next year. As a note: the house is surrounded by a fruit garden, so you need to be aware of hornets and bees flying around. We needed to take care of hornets flying into the house in the evenings, what wasn't a big deal, but to some people it might be problematic.

Super relaxed laid back location, to detach from city life. Perfect starting point to visit Sapanta or the Mocanita.
