Even though we arrived very late, well after dark, we really enjoyed staying in the cottage. Beautiful, remote place where we felt close to nature…Barry was great host and very helpful!

This is about being completely detached from everything else & enjoying where you are. You can walk/hike many km around this working farm & disappear into the mountains if you wish. The fresh mountain water is worth the walk & my suggestion is to simply enjoy the environment & kliphuis for what it is - simplicity. Frikkie the Field Mouse is a notable adversary and was close to a win with us, but thankfully we came out tops. The kliphuis has history & simplicity with the added features of open air bathroom, gas stove, bar fridge & a great outdoor fireplace. As noted in the description, the road up to the kliphuis does require the right vehicle (clearance is key & proper traction) and it was part of our adventure. Barry & Vivienne, we'll be back again in the future.

Wonderful place with impressive owners. Thanks for the interesting conversation! The farm with its very well equipped cottages is a thoughtful and creative place, a fantastic habitat for humans, plant and animal world alike. We hope to be back one day!
