My family had a wonderful experience staying here for the second time. Everyone explained how wonderful communicating with Winnie & Wendy was an excellent communicator even before they checked in. Anytime we are in the Vumba area, we will definitely stay here.

We absolutely loved our time at Rugare cottage, and we will definitely be back. The location, the views, the spaciousness of the house. We loved it. Patrick was helpful with recommendations for local walks. However the listing described a hot tub which our kids had looked forward to, but which wasnt there. Also the electricity had been off for a month (in the whole area). It would have been good to know this in advance. Patrick did run the generator for us daily for a few hours so things could be kept cool in the freezer, and the house has solar lights for the evenings, so we managed. Despite this we had such an amazing time there, and look forward to coming back again next time we go to the Vumba.

Rugare cottage is such a beautiful,serene place which is very ideal for unwinding.Went there with my family for 4 days for Christmas and 2 infants,the place is kids friendly.Winnie and Patrick as exceptionally good,very hands on! The only unfortunate part was about electricity which we understood was beyond the host’s control but I would suggest that they get proper back up like proper working solar because we struggled to keep the meat fresh,had to drive back to Mutare for ice block to keep the meat fresh. We never got the chance to use the Sauna because there was no electricity and only one bathroom had hot water. Generally,Rugare cottage is a great place which I would recommend to anyone who is seeking to be away from the city’s busy life .

The place was clean. The staff at the lodge is just amazing. The location and scenery was just perfect for a peaceful weekend.

Very beautiful place
