Roberta is a the real name of the beautiful host (a beautiful person) of this fantastic unique location: interhome is just the agency which put the advert on Airbnb, of which Will talk in the end. The apartment is at the first floor or a building which is located in a valley, surrounded by a natural park and then by the beautiful colline (hills) of the Media Valle del Serchio (river Serchio valley), just at the very beginning of the serpentine road that starts from the Strada Statale and goes all the way up to the pretty picturesque ancient village of Limano. The house and the garden/park has got all you need for your stay and your family: internet may not be super fast or super accessible but if you are trying to disconnect a bit maybe it's a good thing and you still get the access that you need for basic communication. The swimming pool and the gazebo and the "sdraio" (sunbeds) are useful, cosy and pleasant. The location is surrounded by beautiful villages ready to be visited and discovered like the Terme di Bagni di Lucca (baths), only accessible in a smaller pool via the local hotel, still worth a visit and the investment. What is wonderful is the plethora of little natural lakes that you will find close by along the river Serchio that are so beautiful and refreshing during the warm Summer and still easily accessible, just ask around to the locals or explore on your own but if you can, try to get advise for the easiest ways to get down to the river. Also the Ponte della Magdalena is worth a visit, not too far away, marvellous example of middle-age engineering. The only annoying and disappointing part of experience was to relate with Interhome, who seam to have no idea what it means to put their houses and apartments on Airbnb. They claim to have their own rules that are way more important (to them) of what Airbnb requires from host: I booked using instant booking and I was supplied by them with a telephone number of interhome that was not correct. They did not answer to my messages and until one day before almost they could not tell me if the location was available or not. I had to find a number myself on the internet to get in touch with one of their people at customer service who eventually unlocked the situation and finally gave me the telephone number of the host. But even then: they supplied me with 2 incorrect addresses, and not via the Airbnb platform but via email. To find Roberta's place I had to ask around the various villages and local people were much more helpful than Interhome which I hope will finally correct this problem now. I could not reach the host at the time as phone lines are not always working for tourists depending which GSM operator you use. Anyhow, for as bad and disappointing was the experience with Interhome, I want to praise once again Robert's attitude and kindness and welcoming spirit.
