Just 3 miles from the historic market town of Llanidloes on the River Severn, in the heart of spectacular countryside & offering stunning scenery in every direction, Bwthyn Bellis is a self-contained part of our home that offers total privacy Bwthyn Bellis is a private, completely self-contained, self-catering area adjoining our own barn conversion. We moved here in 2012 and now that our children have their own families and are spending less time with us, we thought it would be nice to open our house to more guests. Friends and family (including small grandchildren now) come and go and we are looking forward to meeting new people and giving them the chance to discover this amazing area. Formerly a cow shed, we are upgrading the main house bit by bit and Helen in particular spends a great deal of time in the garden which extends to 2 acres with a stream down one side, chickens in the wooded area at the bottom of the valley and lots of different formal and informal collections of plants and flowers. You are more than welcome to wander and enjoy this space at your leisure. The kitchen with a breakfast bar and shower room are on the ground floor and up a flight of four steps through a door is the sitting room with a sofa, easy chair, fold-away table and four chairs, bookcase with maps, guides, an assortment of board games and books and a flat-screen television. An east facing stable door takes you on to your own patio area with a table and seating and views across the valley and into the garden. Up a further flight of stairs is the mezzanine bedroom with a queen sized double bed and a cabin bed that can be used either as a sofa or further single/double bed. This is a comfortable, rustic and cosy space that family always scramble to occupy first whenever we have large gatherings. There is under-unit heating in the kitchen, radiators throughout and a wood stove in the sitting room. All bedlinen and towels are provided and you have sole use of a cooker, fridge and washing machine. If you need to dry clothes there is a ceiling mounted pulley drying rack in the kitchen and a line in the garden. In an emergency we have a tumble dryer in the barn which can also be made available on request for a small charge. We charge from £65 per night Sunday - Thursday, £85 per night Friday and Saturday for 2 people. Our standard rate is for up to 2 guests using one bed.
