We returned to Matt’s place after an enjoyable stay last year. We were not disappointed this time too. Matt was very responsive and can be relied on for timely response to queries and issues. Matt also let us leave our luggage with her after checkout as we had a late evening flight. Love the area as the BTS station (and the Sathon pier) was just a short walk away. There’s Tops supermarket at Robinson Bangrak for groceries shopping and at least 3 7-11s in the area. We also walked to the River City where our food tour starts. There are bus services direct to Siam Square and Chinatown too. Will be back when we visit Bangkok again.

The Appartment is exactly like on the pictures. The view is breathtaking . The Appartment is clean and Matt organize when u want cleaning also during your stay for a small fee. Also the transport was perfectly organized for a good price. When u wanna use a fitness center or pool I recommend the shangri la. They offer day passes. All over all we were very satisfied with all.

The Silom area is one of Bangkok’s most exclusive, home to a host of high end hotels and restaurants. Lebua State Tower is located right in the heart of it. The surrounding Bang Rak district is famous for its high-end eating, range of shopping options, atmospheric bars and excellent nightlife. Located just south of Bangkok’s main business district, the area also boasts some of the biggest and most impressive skyscrapers in the city, making for a spectacular view from the balcony.
The Silom / Bang Rak Area is well known for its variety of shopping options. The Silom Centre mall offers high street brands, boutiques and high end shopping, and Icon Siam, Bangkok’s newest shopping centre is easily accessible by free shuttle boat from Sathorn pier. Icon Siam offers everything from high street brands right up to top designer stores, and is worth seeing for the building alone.
Visit the the excellent Silom Village for a more tranquil experience. Set in a tropical gardens with traditional Thai Teak houses, and shops boasting fine antiques, handicrafts, Thai silk products, furniture and accessories. For a similar feel, art lovers should check out photo-artist Manit Sriwanichpoom’s Kathmandu Gallery, recommended as an experience in itself as much as an art gallery or shop. Baan Silom, a charming outdoor dining and shopping area on a tree lined courtyard packed with boutique shops, spas and beauty clinics, can be reached on foot or by BTS.
For markets, Bangkok’s famous Pat Pong Night Market is an experience not to be missed for anyone visiting Bangkok. Or for something a bit different during the day, visit the huge and maze like Lalai Sap Market, offering an endless array of goods, just be careful not to get lost! Jim Thompson’s famous silk shop is well worth a visit, offering a range of silk products, but also somewhere to go just so you can say you’ve been! The Jewellery Trade Centre is only minutes from the apartment on foot.
For eating, nearby you will find an almost infinite number of options. There is a choice of Michelin Star dining in the area: the 2 Star Mezzaluna offers world class French cuisine also and is walking distance from the apartment, or little further afield lies Joël Robuchon's (holder of 28 Michelin Stars in total!) excellent L’Atelier. Also within walking distance of the apartment on the Chao Phraya river, for fantastic modern French Cuisine along with stunning river views, the 2 Michelin Star Le Normandie is a must.
If you like truffles try the Urbani Truffle Bar, who also serve excellent steak, pasta and a variety of Italian and Western cuisine, nearly all of which features, you guessed it, truffles - the truffle popcorn is particularly worth a try. The superb Chom Arun offers Thai fine dining set over 4 stories, so you’re sure to find a seat, or Praya Kitchen offers local seafood as well as Sushi if you’re in the mood for something a little bit different. More toward the street food feel, the excellent ‘hole in the wall’ Hong Teong Long serves Chinese dumplings, mien (Chinese noodles) and salapao (steamed buns) in a modest environment, but has won plaudits for it’s excellent and authentic Chinese cuisine. Or for award winning Thai food head to Salathip, which has a superb setting and views onto the Chao Phraya river to compliment the excellent Thai and Asian food on offer.
For nightlife, The breathtaking Maggie Choo's, the brainchild of Ashley Sutton, responsible for the similarly impressive ‘Iron Fairies’ and ‘Bookshop’ in nearby Thonglor, is a great place to enjoy a cocktail in a totally unique environment. Visit the Tapas Room nightclub to dance the night away with nightly DJ’s, or for something a bit different and distinctly ‘Bangkok’, visit the Stranger Bar for the drag cabaret. A little more simple and down to earth, The Front Page Pub & Restaurant is a nice cosy spot for a beer. And of course, The Sky Bar at Lebua State Tower is a must see for anyone visiting Bangkok, immortalised in the film the Hangover II, and voted in the top ten sky bars in the world. Luckily for you, it’s just upstairs!
Also accessible easily by BTS is notoriously high-end night spot Thonglor. The excellent Commons complex is located a short walk from the station, one of Bangkok’s places to be see and be seen, offering international Craft Beers and a wide array of foods. Thonglor also home to many unique small bars like Shades of Retro, Iron Fairies and Bookshop (two more Ashley Sutton creations), and many great restaurants. Nearby Ekamai features a wide range of Japanese food in the Japanese Market or Bangkok’s best Creole restaurant, Bourbon Creek, and a glut of hip cafes.
One or two stops along the BTS Skytrain route lies Lumphini Park, famous for its wide open green spaces and monitor lizards, and a popular running spot for locals - be sure not to get carried along by the jogging crowds! Accessible easily by Taxi is the charming China Town, with the bustling markets and excellent Chinese, Japanese and Thai street food you would expect. Just north of here on foot or by cab you will find the very cool Soi Nana, a unassuming street which just happens to be lined with expensive gin bars, in an very authentic Bangkok setting, and packed full of Thai hipsters and foreigners alike. Teens Of Thailand offer an excellent cocktail selection, or take in the music at the laid back 23 Bar.
Just across the river and easily accessible by boat is the Charoen Krung Creative District, home to the excellent Warehouse 30, showcasing local and international design in a slick setting and featuring a cafe bar and restaurant also. The Jam Factory, a converted factory repurposed into a popular creative space, restaurant, book shop and cafe, is a great place to while away an afternoon.

出行信息

Note: we recommend you set up Grab, Asia’s version of Uber, on your phone for taxis. Grab offers cabs and motorbike taxis, which are a good option during Bangkok’s infamous rush-hour.
Getting to and from the Lebua State Tower is couldn’t be easier with two BTS Skytrain Stations within a few minutes walk. Susurak BTS Station provides easy access to shopping, with the Markets and Silom Centre only one stop away, or indeed to any sites further along the skytrain route and night spots like Thongor (Thong Lo BTS Station) and Ekamai. The sky train is very cheap and easy to use - simply by your ticket at the counter or from one of the machines, and tap at the gates to enter.
Both China Town and Soi Nana can be reached by a short (5 min depending on traffic!) cab journey by Grab, or just hail a cab on Si Lom.
Access to the river boat is also possible form Saphan Taksin station. Both the tourist boat and the express boat can be taken from the Sathorn Pier, which connects to the BTS Skytrain. From here, you can hop on the river and head to some of the most noteworthy areas of town, including the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and Asiatique The Riverfront. Also from here you can take the boat from the Si Phraya Pier across the river to the Design District, home to The Jam Factory and Warehouse 30
