Rising Moon Farm is situated in rural Tyler County West Virginia. It is approximately 10 miles from the Ohio River and 40 miles north of Parkersburg, WV and seven miles southwest of Middlebourne, WV. We have an old farmhouse that is offered as a "farm stay/retreat" (no meals). This is a rural, semi-rustic experience - no TV, no internet, no cell service, no AC, and heat only on first floor. But this is a great place for hiking, biking, retreats, birding, artists, photographers, writers... With five bedrooms (3 twins, 1 double, 1 queen) we can accommodate 2 couples and three singles with privacy. With 2 futons and 1 fold out couch in common areas we can accommodate even more if you don't mind sharing sleeping space and the single bathroom. You could even pitch a tent in the back yard for more space. Great for families or close groups of friends on retreat. Also a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room with washer and dryer. Well behaved pets and mature children are welcome. We have a small flower and vegetable operation, no farm animals. You are welcome to help pull weeds. Or you can get close to nature wandering the 130 acres through woods, brush and fields. Or just sit by our small pond and meditate. In addition to many species of birds, you may expect to see (or hear) deer, raccoons, opossum, coyotes, snakes, bugs, and occasionally the neighbor's cows. We do not allow use of off road vehicles (ATVs, Dirt Bikes, etc) on the property, many locals do use street legal ATVs/4 wheelers on the public roads.)
