Stunning sea views close to the sea front restaurants of Prcanj and Old Town Kotor. A recently refurbished apartment with two bedrooms sleeping up to six people. There is a double sofa bed too. Very short walk to the sea, local restaurants and shops. Prcanj is a quiet fishing village with Venetian style palaces and with great access to Kotor, Perast and Porto Montenegro. Great for organising boat trips around the bay and visits to mountains and water parks. The area is really quiet as it is located in a beautiful country setting and the road ends just outside the house so there is no through traffic. It is a lovely safe space surrounded by mature trees and nature and the sea is just a couple of minutes walk away
This is a lovely, bright, spacious apartment in a good location near Prĉanj. We stayed for a total of almost 2 months so got to know both the apartment and the area quite well! I will say that there were some issues to start with (simply due to it being the start of the season) but Laurence and his team went above and beyond to get things resolved and overall we had a good stay. A few things that are worth mentioning... - Plunge pool (and AC) were great. - Location is about 10/15 minute walk from the "centre" of Prĉanj, this includes a very (very) steep hill. Small shop is probably 5 minutes walk and a larger one (near Hyatt) 15 minutes. Sea is less than 5 minutes. Kotor Old Town a 10/15min €7-10 taxi. - It's below another apartment and you could hear some noise from above and especially when coming/going - but really nothing major. - Internet is via 4G Hotspot and wasn't brilliant. Would be no problem for weeks holiday but wasn't ideal for work/video calls.
Shopping
The shopping experience in Montenegro has improved massively in the last 6 years. I would recommend using VOLI, MAXI or ELLA supermarkets for your major shop. There are plenty of small shops like Market Dado that is just 3 minutes walk from the apartment but I generally use the small supermarket next to bakery in Prcanj village centre. The bakery in Prcanj centre (10 minutes stroll) which serves cafes and fresh bread and emergency pizza.
Avoid Old Town Kotor for anything other than clubs and restaurants as the shops are geared up to relieve rich cruise ship passengers of their euros.
Restaurants and Bars
Over the years I’ve seen many restaurants come and go. My favourite is Café Centaur in the centre of Prcanj village next to the big church and near the bakery. Prices are reasonable with free WiFi. Beer costs about €1.7 for 500 mls and a salad or pizza will cost between €3-7. Portions are large for some of the main dishes pizzas, mixed grill or cevapi (spicy grilled sausages) so getting a selection of two dishes between three people often works better than leaving food. Surprisingly fish like sea bass is quite expensive.
There are also plenty of fish restaurants along the beach road. If you turn left as you come down the hill to the sea there are two fish restaurants that are quite reasonable with seating right on the waterfront. There are also plenty of Konobas on the right hand side too which are usually cool even in the summer.
Another great restaurant is at the Hotel Splendido in Prcanj (about 30 minutes stroll). The terrace is spectacular and worth a visit even if you don’t eat. The quality of food at the hotel is up a notch or two on most other restaurants with a little more sophistication.
There are plenty of Konoba’s (stone restaurants) along the front and some have decking right onto the water. Expect them to be busy a peak times.
Taxis and bus services are really very affordable
