This review is not easy to write but: Outside the windows of the studio are garbage cans for the entire apartment building. The stench was very noticeable and a plug-in fragrance diffuser just added a nauseating chemical smell. There was debris on the floor, cobwebs in corners and under the cabinets. The towels smelled and especially one of the dish towels was disgusting. The handle of the dishwasher was just stuck on a protruding screw and came off; it was difficult to get the keys in and out of the locks; the owner promised to straighten or file the offending strike plate of the latch bolt, then postponed and then never showed up. It is possible that running the place is just too much for the couple who have 3 very young children and live outside Prague. The wife, who seems to run the rental, is from Chile, does not speak much Czech, which complicates things. They should acknowledge the garbage problem, do the repairs and keep the place clean. After all they charge a cleaning fee!

Overall the stay was great. However, the host engaged in verbal harassment and threats due to a miscommunication. I asked if visitors were allowed and was told yes, only to find out that the hosts were not on the same page about that. Additionally, I planned on leaving around 9 am (checkout was 12 noon), and I told the hosts that. I overslept, only to be awoken by the cleaning personnel, who arrived at 11 am (one hour before checkout). The host then verbally harassed me over the phone to depart, as though I had overstayed. They made multiple threats to call the authorities to have me removed from the premises, and continued the harassment via text after I hastily departed the stay. The place was great, however the high stakes of a simple miscommunication ended up being extremely unpleasant.

I came to Prague for the first time, and Iva and Josef made the experience so easy! Iva reached out in advance and was very accommodating as my check-in time changed and I had to extend my stay. They are the most kind and welcoming Airbnb hosts I've ever had! The apartment is in a nice, quiet area with a tram stop and grocery store very close. I felt safe and had everything that I needed at the apartment or within walking distance. It was really nice to have a dishwasher and kitchen, however, the refrigerator was not working at the moment. Highly recommend!!

I will join all of the praise for Iva in saying that she is an amazing host. The flat is located very conveniently and the price is very reasonable, which is a rare find. We have had the most awesome experience in Prague and we will definitely be back!
