Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Interlaken, a small paradise nestled between two crystal-clear alpine lakes and surrounded by some of the most majestic mountain peaks (Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and many more). This alpine town is no doubt a nature lover's haven. Enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets from this 2nd floor attic apartment with a spacious balcony and living space, located in a calm neighbourhood, a 15 minute walk away from the train station of Interlaken Ost. PROPERTY OVERVIEW Sunset Apartment is a cherished home that holds a special place in our heart. This spacious attic studio flat (approximately 50m2) features a wooden ceiling, remote controlled skylights, a spacious bathroom, and an equally spacious balcony. It consists of two rooms: the main living area with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom, and a separate room with the bathroom. 
ENTRANCE Upon entering the second floor, you'll find a cozy entrance area with a bench, hooks for jackets, and ample shoe storage space. A vacuum cleaner is provided for your convenience. Please refrain from using any cleaning products unless you are certain what they are for. Wrong use of cleaning products has lead in the past to great damages of the furniture and the floor.
 BEDROOM The bedroom has a 180x200cm / 70x78inches bed with separate duvet blankets, each encased in a duvet cover measuring 160x210cm / 62x82inches. A skylight above illuminates the room, and a remote controller allows you to adjust it as well as the rest of the skylights in the flat. On the left a spacious open wardrobe crafted from hand-burnished wood provides ample storage as well as separation between the bedroom and the living room. On the right side of the bed, you'll find my personal digital white Yamaha piano. DEDICATED WORK SPACE A small, cozy office corner awaits with a lamp and three drawers. Despite its compact size, this nook is perfect for tackling tasks on the go. The desk’s exact dimensions are 102x49cm / 40x19 inches. KITCHEN The charming studio kitchen is complete with all essentials for quick, enjoyable meals. It includes cutlery, pots and pans, plates and glasses, a mini fridge with a mini freezer, oven and induction stove, a Delizio coffee machine, microwave, and kettle. A cozy dining table for two sits beneath another skylight, allowing natural light to flood the space.
 LIVING ROOM Relax and unwind in the inviting living room, drenched in natural light. Enjoy movie nights on the cozy couch adorned with colorful pillows. The Samsung 55-inch TV is only connected to Netflix and wifi. Please respect hygiene standards by refraining from unfolding the couch or using it as a bed. A selection of books is also available for reading. BATHROOM The bathroom is very spacious with a big sink and a compact but practical shower in the corner. It features a wooden ceiling, providing a warm ambiance. A hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo are provided, along with two towels per guest. Towel change is available upon request during longer stays (after 5 days). We kindly ask guests not to wash the towels themselves, as they require professional washing with special detergents and temperatures, and to avoid starting a whole washing machine for just two towels. BALCONY Step out onto the spacious balcony, offering enough space for some yoga, stretching, or simply soaking in the surroundings. An old table with two chairs provides a space for tasty meals and drinks. The cozy sitting lounge in the corner offers a perfect spot to relax and take in the views. From here, you can gaze upon the garden below, the neighbouring houses, and Beatenberg, known as the longest village in Europe, to your right. Watch as paragliders glide through the sky, and admire the distant silhouette of Niesen and other mountains in the distance. Please help us take care of the plants and outdoor furnishings during your stay. If it rains or snows, kindly move the pillows and mattresses to prevent damage. If you notice that the plants could use some water please don't hesitate to water them. HOUSE This studio is part of our family house, where we've lived for many years. We have fond memories of growing up here and attending the school just across the street. Currently, our brother and his family call this place home, creating a family-friendly vibe in the neighborhood. It's worth noting that you'll hear the church clock chiming every half-hour and noises from the nearby school. While we find these sounds charming, they may not suit those sensitive to noise. The studio is on the second floor, accessible via two staircases with no elevator. HEATING SYSTEM Our apartment stays cozy thanks to good insulation and being on the sunny attic floor. It's heated by radiators connected to a central heating system, which only runs during colder months. If you arrive on the very first cold days of the season, the heating might not be fully on yet. The heating is adjustable. The radiators in the studio can be controlled from the side. Number 5 is the highest setting. The room temperature won’t heat up above 20-22 degrees Celsius. This is the standard in Switzerland. For example if it’s a warm day outside it’s very likely that the radiators feel cold.
 COOLING SYSTEM In this region of Switzerland, air conditioners are not commonly found in homes. The way us locals ensure our homes remain pleasantly cool during the warmest days is by closing the windows, drawing all curtains, and even shutting exterior window shutters/skylights while we are out exploring or working during the day. These proactive measures prevent the homes from heating up excessively. As nightfall brings cooler temperatures, we open the windows to welcome some fresh air. Inside the flat, you will also find a strong standing fan, which can be used to enhance airflow and create a pleasant breeze. LAUNDRY ROOM The Laundry room is located in the basement of the house and is marked with a sign on its door for easy identification. Access it by following the indoor or outdoor stairs of the house until you reach the bottom. Inside, you'll find a washing machine, a dryer, hanging lines for clothes drying, an iron, and a standing ironing board. Please note that the laundry room is also used by the inhabitants of the house. If the machine you wish to use is occupied, feel free to transfer the textiles to one of the plastic containers/boxes provided. Detergent is available for your convenience. It's important to mention that the rest of the basement is used by friends and family, and may not always be organised. Some months it's more and some months its less presentable. GARDEN The house has a big green area downstairs which is common for the inhabitants of the house.
