First of all, Esteban is an incredible host. He is so helpful, kind and hospitable. He really cares about your experience and helps you optimize every moment. This airbnb is beyond the normal guest house stay. LaFinca is an amazing resort. It has everything you need for a complete vacation experience. The rooms are super comfortable, private, and very well appointed. They are situated on a ranch with stables, horses to ride, ATVs excursions to local hot springs, a water buffalo you can ride, and an incredibly good restaurant with excellent food, amazing staff, and very affordable prices. The pool is great too for an afternoon dip after a morning horse ride with a great guide or an ATV adventure. Hot air Ballons are available too but we could not squeeze them into this trip. Next time for sure! We will be going back. My wife and I had a terrific week at this magical place. We highly recommend you go.

Loved this stay and the villa with the horses that grazed in the field in front of the villa. Loved the view and indoor/outdoor living. Everything was well kept and beautiful with really friendly staff. Lovely stay!!

Not enough words to describe this amazing place... From the beautiful gardens with sloths and colourful birds just at your doorstep, to admiring the horses a few meters from the house and the private terrace, and the extremely helpful and friendly staff, this place is a MUST if you want to experience the Costa Rican mountains and countryside in a comfortable and peaceful setting. We will go back for sure and hope to be able to stay in the Ilan Ilan villa again.

La Finca lodge was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling. The property itself is stunning. The staff is unmatched, very helpful and kind. The horseback riding tour with Dani is an absolute must. This stay was beyond my expectations and worth every penny. I grew up riding horses and that trail ride was not disappointing. It’s the perfect stay for a couple that wants a quite sanctuary immersed in nature with a good amount of options for adventure and close by bars/ restaurants. The near by “Cafe Matiz” was SO good. My boyfriend and I went two days in a row, for lunch and then breakfast. The food at La Finca lodge was amazing as well. We only enjoyed dinner one night and it was delicious. The shrimp and rice dish was amazing and the sea bass ceviche is the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend- this place is a hidden gem!

Unfortunately wasn’t what we expected. The property in general is well maintained, villas are clean. If you’re the type for it you can have some adventures with ATV’s, horses hot air balloons. But we visited in the off season and it seems overpriced, especially seeing that no food is included. Quality of food is good, the breakfast portions are too small for what one pays and we are by far no all-you-can-eat people. Interesting places are all quite the drive away and La Fortuna itself is still too touristy. If you don’t mind being in the car for a while this place is for you. Try to hit the surrounding local area and the one south of La Fortuna and you will find less tourists, hidden gems, cute sodas and beautiful landscape.
