A slice of heaven! The gracious hosts make you feel at home and are helpful with local recommendations. The chef meal was the best we had in Italy.
Great location if you have a car and great Airbnb for a group that is traveling. Was easy to find with the directions Niccolo provided. Pool area was a nice spot to relax. A couple issues we made Paula aware of after our first night: 1 of the beds did not have any sheets (Airbnb had extra sheets we used) and kettle had dead bugs inside (nothing was done about this, we just didn’t use it). We found the kitchen area to have a lot of dead bugs so we ate out most of the trip. Overall was a good stay for a few nights.
A very large home for a large family.
Hi all Niccolos stay is superb. Everything is great barring the location which though is set in a picturesque setting, it is cut off from the rest of Pontassieve / Florence with nobody around. Said that, Niccolo and his mum were kind enough to Ferry us back and forth to and from the supermarket to source groceries at a nominal cost. We loved the pool. It is better than what the pictures reveal even. My family and I didn’t want to come out of the pool once we stepped in. The lush greenery adds to the location and overall experience The villa is warm, very authentic italian and rustic, large and comfortable, and well equipped. Just one thing - too many mosquitos. I think that’s because of the pool water, because of the large green cover but the owner was kind enough to provide us with the mosquito spray when we requested them. Also, be prepared to rent a car if in this region as it’s completely cut off from rest of Florence. While the owners can ferry around to grocery stores upon early information but all other important sites of visit quite far and not possible walking and there is no public transit port available. Overall excellent stay. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and I also look forward to visiting this place soon later. Regards Punnya
I booked this villa for a birthday weekend away with 8 friends. We spent the days by pool and evenings either cooking and eating in the house or at the local restaurants recommended by Nicollo’s mum, Paolo (which we amazing and authentic). They are a great family who live next door and are always happy to help. Paolo gave me a bottle of their homemade wine for my birthday and drove us to the train station after check out which were greatly appreciated and considered above and beyond service. The house is not far from Florence and about a 5 min drive from the local town. It’s scenic, quiet and peaceful. Thank you again! We will be back.
