The location and the wonderful cosy living room/kitchen of this house are the absolute top points of this house! If you love hiking, mtb or the outdoors it is a great place to stay! Behind the little house are hiking and biking trails, the house is outside the village and lies in the fields and in the woods, and is surrounded by lots of green and very peaceful and quiet. Our dog could walk around freely all day and had the time of her life! The house itself is an old cowshed completely redone with lots of wood and glass upstairs, giving a very comfortable, warm and light living area. It is really centrally located to discover different valleys of the Brenta Dolomites and the Ortler national park. There are some good hiking suggestions from Roos at the house as well. The facilities are all you need, not luxurious but basic. In all: we really can recommend this place!

Das Häuschen ist landschaftlich schön und im Mai sonnig gelegen. Der Wohnraum oben ist freundlich und gemütlich mit viel Liebe zu Detail eingerichtet. Die Schlafzimmer und das Bad unten sind recht kühl und etwas dunkel aber absolut ok. Insgesamt ist das Haus seht sauber. Ich habe es als sehr schön empfunden das bei unserer Ankunft das Radio lief sowie der Ofen brannte, man fühlte sich wilkommen. Die Umgebung ist seht gut gelegen zum wandern und für Outdoor-Aktivitäten. Zum Einkaufen hat man entweder einen ca. 20 Minütigen Fussweg oder 5 Min mit dem Auto, gleiches für Restaurants.

Flavio und Ross sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Hütte ist gemütlich und hat viel Charme - zumindest der große Wohnbereich "oben". Die Schlafzimmer sind etwas spartansich, das äußere Schlafzimmer mit drei Betten ist im Winter wegen der Kälte nicht zu empfehlen. Man muss sich wegen der Heizungskosten immer ein wenig sorgen, was Falvio und Ross aber zukünftig ändern wollen. Pallets für den Hauptofen im Gemeinschaftsraum kann man aber günstig im Supermarkt nachkaufen. Grundsätzlich ist die Hütte wohl eher für den Sommer als für den Winter geeignet. Die Isolierung ist etwas luftig. Wir haben aber trotz genannter Einschränkungen hier schöne Tage verbracht.

I feel very sorry, having to write the first negative feedback for a holiday location ever. Let´s start with the positive points, though: The area around Male is very interesting and there is a lot to do. The chalet „Maso Francesco“ is nice and pleasant, but all in all by no means worth the amount you are asking for. We have been to quite a number of mountain chalets of varying standards, so I think, we have a good base to judge from. We have had simple dwellings without elecricity and even without water closet (which is ok, as long as the price reflects the standard) up to four-star dwellings with all the service expected of these. This time we payed 2150 Euro for two weeks (four persons plus dog), which should indicate a fairly high standard. The house has everything, that is necessary, but mostly in a simple variety: starting from the kitchen equipment (only one pan and one saucepan that could be really used, the others were burnt badly or did not fit to the induction hart) to rather unstable beds. The rooms downstairs were damp although we had very dry weather outside. We then had the feeling, that we had to pay extra for everything you could possibly charge extra: here extra-fee for W-lan, extra-fee for bedlinen which we had not even asked for, etc. It was announced, that there was wood for the woodstove in the kitchen, but there was none. The Maso is advertised the ideal base for hiking, yet there was not a single map,... Yes, it may happen that prior guests have forgotten to put them back, which is no excuse for not getting a new one for the next guests. Anyway, we did not take one away, but left our maps there. The elecricity bill was more that irritating: For cooking occasional pasta and coffee, taking a shower every other day and having a bit of light at night we payed 60 Euro per week additionally for electricity. This is three times the amount we need at home in a house of 450 squaremetres with ten persons and a full household going on (Sorry Roos, we certainly never ever switched on any kind of heating, as we had two weeks of full bright sunshine). Last but not least our hosts proved extremely unreliable: they had promised to come on our last day, but completely forgot about it and could not be contacted. It was very difficult to get the final bill and in the meantime they had forgotten what they had promised... As a summary: It is possible to charge the rent they do at Maso Francesco, and we were of course willing to spend this money. But for this amount of money you expect the feeling that someone has taken an effort - in making your stay nice and enjoyable and worthwhile– and not only an effort in charging extra wherever possible and investing as little time and money as possible....

Mooi en gezellig huisje met alles er op en er aan. De ligging is helemaal prive met veel ruimte en mooi uitzicht rondom het huis. We hebben o.a. gewandeld rondom het Toval meer en naar de watervallen in de Rabbi vallei. Allebei prachtig en niet te lang of te zwaar) Ook de korte wandeling (ong. half uurtje) door het bos en over de loopbrug naar het gezellige stadje Male is al een prachtige wandeling op zich. Ook hadden we fietsen mee: zeker de moeite waard want je kunt prachtig door de vallei heen fietsen over 35 km fietspad langs de rivier. En als je wilt kun je met fiets en al met de trein heen of terug (dus kun je bv alleen stroomafwaarts/helling af fietsen)
