I stayed Gen’s place at 158/Broadway little over four months when I started working at Columbia University’s Medical campus till I move to a my own rent. Gen’s place was exactly right place for my need. Gen was always responsive and checking was very easy. Gen cleaned the room and keep the place well organized. She is an amazing chef as well. She made the welcome meal for me!!! Regarding the place and the room, the building is located in an accessible place. Very close to 157 subway station as well as 168. There’s a lot of restaurants and grocery stores which is a plus. Additionally, the you can lock the room and have your mail box to receive mail and packages. The building is located in a calm and quiet place. Kitchen and the bath room is nice and clean. Columbia shuttles start from 168st. Gen is a kind person and provided me all the supplies during the stay and helped me with my clean up when I move out. I recommend Gen’s place to others specially for Columbia medical campus.

Gen’s place is great to stay… Being first time to NY , I really enjoyed my days and staying at Gen’s place is the best decision I ever made. I felt like staying at home and Gen made me very comfortable. I really loved her coffee and she is an amazing cook.She was very helpful and very kind. Her Daughter Leela is an amazing kid and really loved spending my time with her. The house is always clean and and you get all the essentials needed for cooking in the kitchen. She provided all the essentials as mentioned.I came here for study purposes and was really able to focus on that as I got everything at Gen’s place. We also had great time discussing about each other’s culture and never felt like Im staying alone.There is coffee shop, grocery stores , pharmacy, restaurants and subway closer by.. it’s just few minutes walk(2 -3minutes) . I Will strongly recommend Gen’s place (10/10). Whenever I’m travelling to NY, I will be at Gen’s place. Thank you so much Gen.

This is a great place to stay and Gen is a great host. Although it's pretty far from lower Manhattan, the train is just across the street so it was still convenient to get around!

Gen is definitely the ideal host you could imagine. Not only because she offers the best quality room, food and accommodation service, but she is also warm hearted, and with patience. Gen always likes to talk with people, sharing her views and her deep knowledge. I am truly inspired by her life stories and learned much from her. Gen has an adorable daughter of almost eight, who is nice and kind. I’ll miss you guys!
