Peaceful and relaxing environment. Beautiful setting next to the Trade River. Enjoyed viewing local wildlife. Getting to steam in the newer clean sauna. Lastly, it possesses a spacious well stocked kitchen. Loved it!

This is the perfect place to relax! Away from noise and beautiful setting! Driveway is tricky if ground is wet, I was in a jeep. I also couldn’t figure how to light the stove. Hot water is an issue but I’d definitely go back and stay a million times!!!

Doug's cabin was a great choice for a solo weekend retreat! It was cozy and well-appointed, and I would love to return in summer to explore more of the scenery outside. Be aware that the cabin was pretty cold in winter/early spring; I would recommend bringing thick socks and warm layers. However, there was heating available and the wood fire stove was an absolute treat. The kitchen was stocked with many essentials, plus farm fresh eggs, and everything for guest use was very well marked. Thanks again!

Arriving between Spring snow storms, we decided to pretend we were snowbound (though the roads and driveway were well plowed) and didn't drive out during our stay. What a perfect place to hunker down. Sit by the fire. Watch the snow accumulate on the trees through the many views into the deep woods. View the returning Wood Ducks right there on the river. Drink warm things. Listen to good music. Sauna and then venture out into the quiet forest on short forays to collect kindling for tomorrow's fire. This was a perfect end-of-winter celebration for us.
