We were a large family group gathering for our first time in Oslo. The island location is gorgeous and the house is both beautiful and well suited to a family group. Catherine was proactive in getting our groceries delivered so we were comfortable despite no stores on the island. We also had free use of their boat which allowed us to arrange our schedule as we liked. Pacing with our large family group meant accounting for two shuttle trips to get all of us across to the mainland. The 31 bus line was close and frequent for getting us into Oslo. We bought a week pass but no one ever seemed to check the bus ticket. The house itself was well equipped with everything kitchen, fireplace and gorgeous outdoor space. It was a little cool and rainy for the pool but the hanging outdoor bed was a favorite spot to hang out.

A beautiful, unique setting that's perfect for families. Panoramic views, daily swimming in the heated pool, fishing off the pier (caught plenty of little ones!), evenings by the fireside inside and out, barbecues, beautiful walks... wonderful place. Thank you Catherine!

This house is wonderful and the host, Catherine, is extremely helpful, welcoming, responsive and kind. We arrived to rainy weather for a few days but we were able to make some cozy meals in the well-equipped kitchen and still enjoy evenings outside near the outdoor fireplace under the covered porch. When the weather cooperated we took relaxing walks through the magically lit forest, went kayaking and took the ferry to the bus to explore Oslo. This house offers magnificent views, feels very safe and is so quiet, you are truly able to relax. Catherine was so helpful, available via Airbnb messaging any time we had a question, and we loved her small lovely details that made us feel welcome: fresh flowers, chocolates, snacks, champagne. Terrific. She picked us up from the mainland, helped us up to the house with our luggage and introduced us to the house. When it was time to leave, she and her husband took most of our luggage in their boat to the mainland where they had pre-booked a taxi to the airport for us, and helped us unload, making for an ultra-smooth departure. We have all agreed to stay at one of Catherine's places the next time we are in Norway. Tusen Takk Catherine and family! 👏

Loved the location, peace and quiet. Kids enjoyed 'living' in the pool, and jumping into the sea. Even spotted the deer crossing the lawn while watching the sun rise! Catherine is a great host, very quick with responding to questions and queries and extremely helpful in getting us to the island and settled into the house. Highly recommend this for a getaway. Just remember that the local supermarket is closed on Sunday's.
