The Old Bakehouse is a wonderful coastal bolt hole in a very special part of Cornwall. Close to the coast path & lots of beautiful beaches, it's a perfect base for exploring the coast & moors. Sail, surf, walk or just sit still & enjoy the peace. The Old Bakehouse is a very pretty stone and slate Cornish cottage from the 1700s. We think it is a very special place. It is our family bolt hole and not a full time holiday let, so expect lived in, simple and cosy rather than high end and polished. Downstairs you'll find - a well-equipped kitchen (inc. fridge freezer, microwave, oven & hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier) - the sitting room with sofa, arm chairs, coffee table, workspace table and daybed with long view to the sea, plus TV & a DVD player and broadband Wifi if you need to log in (to avoid disappointment please note that the TV is intentionally small as that's not what we go down there for - the cottage is not set up for big screen evenings); - leading off the sitting room at the opposite end from the kitchen, a warm bathroom with bath and shower over Upstairs - the two bedrooms, one double and one twin with raised cabin beds. Both have long views to the sea. The double has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The twin room has lots of big drawers and a hook to hang things on the back of the door but no wardrobe. The cottage has central heating and wood burning stove together with a great store of wood. There are two tables in the garden, a bench and a pair of Adirondack chairs so you can spend time outside looking out across the fields to the sea. Just step out from the garden and head in any direction for fantastic views and stunning coastal landscapes. It's a pretty, short walk to Tregardock beach (beautiful quiet beach, walking access only, great for experienced surfers), or go further along the coastal path to Port Isaac or Trebarwith Strand. It's an easy drive to lots of other nearby beaches - including Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Rock. The whole cottage is yours while you are here. Make yourselves at home! Louise looks after the house when we're not there. She is nearby if you need her. I’m on the end of a phone too. Treligga is a peaceful secluded hamlet on the North Cornwall coast. Close to the popular beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and to Port Isaac and Padstow, but hidden away from the crowds. The cottage has parking space for 2 cars. If you want to take the bus, it's about a 25 minute walk up to the main road to the bus stop. The nearest train station is Bodmin (about half an hour / 40 minutes by car).
Enjoyed a wonderful stay. The cottage is a real sanctuary, very peaceful and with a lovely garden in which to relax. We enjoyed walks along the coast path, which is easily accessible on foot from the cottage, and afternoons on the beach. Communication with Abi was quick and easy. All in all a fantastic stay. I'd highly recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing break. Many thanks Abi.
Schönes Cottage in ruhiger Lage! Alles vorhanden was man braucht.
The Bakehouse is an idyllic cottage in a quiet seaside hamlet. It felt like home. We hope to return again one day.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage in Cornwall. The location was stunning and the accommodation was fantastic. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The hosts were friendly and helpful, providing great local tips. We would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended thank you so much
Absolutely magical place to stay. Abi was extremely helpful and responsive. The cottage was spacious but cosy, we loved the fire and the bath/ bathroom, the kitchen was perfect also. Beautiful surroundings and the walk down to the beach is worth the walk up and down as it is a gorgeous quiet cove. Couldn’t recommend anymore, would stay again.

Our nearest beach - Tregardock - is accessed across fields and at the very bottom by a pathway down the rocks. It is a wonderful beach but the last bit of the path down may be too slippery or steep for some people.
