The house was beautiful and private - exactly like the pictures online. Surrounded by forest, water, and wildlife - it was the perfect getaway! We absolutely plan to come back.

This home was the most charming, warm and magical place for my family to spend time together. It has all the character of a historic home without compromising comfort. The kitchen feels like a friend's kitchen and is thoughtfully equipped including teas, coffee, cream and sugar. The location, directly on the water, provides endless opportunities to watch to tides move in and out. It is quiet, picturesque and simply a lovely place to stay.

This lovely home was a peaceful retreat in every way. The big front room overlooking the water was furnished comfortably to hang out and socialize or curl up with a book, and was oozing with period charm. The greenery on either side of the house and lawn made it feel secluded and private. The kitchen was the most well-stocked of any rental I've been in, with everything from parchment paper to a cooling rack for baked goods, and every size pot or pan one could ask. There was a very nice selection of books. Waking up in the front bedroom overlooking the water was magical. We would definitely stay here again! It felt like there were a lot of hoops to jump through to rent this place, with far more paperwork involved than I expected (a separate contract, a release form asking for signatures of everyone visiting), along with information that was already at the house, like check-out procedures. However, if that's what's necessary to make this historic spot available, so be it!
