The Mulino is an old watermill. The walls are thick and rustic and it feels like you are transported in time. Sitting outside every night cooking and eating at the long table under the arches is peaceful. The garden is beautiful and helps create a lot of shadow which keeps it cool in the heat. The running river is small but also creates a slight cooling to the air. It can get hot in August in Italy. There is no air conditioning so the downstairs living space is kept dark and cool by the thick walls for those hot days. The Mulino is remote, near a small town and surrounded by fields, with a small cluster of other houses. If you have a car it will be easy to get around. We did not have a car but ended up bicycling around which kept us very local. The train is easy to take. We took it to Venice often. It is a 30 minute ride into Venice on the train and is a nice journey to sit and relax before entering the crowds of Venice. It was always a relief to return to such a quiet place at night and sit outside listening to the crickets and the frogs. Giovanni and his family are extremely welcoming and eager to help. Easy to reach and quick to respond. We were welcomed with a glass of wine and cheese and bread. The home has a rustic timeless feel to it and slows the pace of life. It is a home full of things collected over time and carries a sense of memory. At first I was surprised by the space because it was so eclectic but it became the thing I loved most as the days passed. It made me realize how sanitized I had become in a minimal style living. I came to love each odd lamp made of found pieces or old street posts and each table and chair being different. We were there to write and work so we stayed close to the watermill and mostly ventured to Venice to see the Bienale and when we wanted to explore. We loved our stay at the Mulino. We had many wonderful meals sitting outside under the arches listening to the river and looking at the garden. Fresh zuchinni from the garden. Purple waterlilies in a small pond.The watermill is a spacious place and comfortable with pillows on every couch for siesta. I would stay again absolutely.

The Watermill was absolutely magical. The hosts were very welcoming, helpful and flexible which is always great when you're Airbnb-ing, but what made our stay so extra awesome was the house and garden itself. The images in the ad are not making it justice, it's much better in reality! If you want to be left completely alone in the house you should probably look someplace else, because the hosts come by every now and then to tend to the garden. But if you're ok with this and enjoy meeting new people, this is a rare opportunity. All the best to you Giovanni, Toni and Claudia, we'll be back!

The watermill is a dream.....! :-) It was quite easy to find by navigation, yet it lies so peaceful in the landscape, that you have the feeling no one lives around you. The mill is huge an is beautifully equipped with old furniture, art and a lot of nice things. Giovanni and his parents gave us a warm welcome and equipped us with tips for restaurants and the surroundings. It is adviced to have a car, but still the connections by train are perfect. 5 minutes by car or maybe 30 minutes by walking you find in the center of Piomino Dese a train station that takes you directly to Venice or Bassano del Grappa. Padua, Vicenca and Treviso are also close by. Everything around 30 minutes by car. For those interested in architecture: all the Villas of Palladio are close by, one even in the center of Piombino Dese. Giovanni and his parents (her mother speaks German) helped in every direction and were close by when we had a question or a problem. The mill is totally amazing and the terrace in the front of the house beneath the bows is exactly like you see it in the pictures. Even rain did not disturb us, because the terrace is almost a house itself because of its size. We loved our stay and actually think about to come back, because it is so nice. Great hosts, great location. All thumbs up! :-)
