Had an amazing stay at Victor's place in Langkawet! Excellent hospitality, local recommendations, and great food + conversation. Will certainly be back for another stay whenever possible.

We had an amazing time at Victor's place. The place is better than what you see in pictures. The village is a bit untouched, which we quite enjoyed. The night sky is beautiful as a result of low light pollution. The heaters under the mattressare a delight. Victor as a host was both friendly with his advices and professional with his services. The caretaker Wansuk was also very agile, always up to the task and crisp with his communication. He helped us set up a bonfire on our last night. I would highly recommend Victor's place.

Me and my family spent 3 wonderful nights at Langkawet village in October 2019. Victor is really a superhost and he made our stay comfortable in the cottages. Couple of times he also arranged warm water in buckets separately so that we can quickly finish of the bath. The cottage including the bathroom was very clean and the food served were fresh and tasty. For finding the exact location of the The Retreat please request Victor to share the coordinates. Victor is very knowledgeable about Meghalaya and the local culture and if you request him he can make great tour plans for you which you will find nowhere in internet. We had some great dinner time conversations with Victor. This was our first visit in Meghalaya and we already fell in love with the hills and the local Khasi people. If you are planning to visit Cherapunjee, Mawlynong, Dawki, Shillong then you can base at Langkawet and keep a car / two wheeler with you for travelling. The nearest airport would be Shillong and if you are travelling to Guwahati from Langkawet then keep 5 hours in your hand to be on safe side. We look forward to visit Meghalaya again some time in future and would love to stay in The Retreat again.
