Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten eine schöne Zeit.
The Old Cottage was as charming as if it were from the pages of a story book! It was absolutely perfect and idyllic in every way. So peaceful and private. The cottage is only a 15 minutes drive to the nearest town, which was great for our grocery shopping needs. From the moment we arrived, it felt like our home away from home. Fresh flowers and a note greeted us upon entering. John and Linda pay much attention to detail and it shows. John was very responsive in our communications and even stopped by one morning to make sure we were settling in okay. I highly recommend this location and host.
This was exactly what we wanted for an Ireland countryside getaway. The cottage is exactly as described and was very comfortable for the four of us. As a host, John is a real gem - friendly, generous with advice and help, and incredibly quick response times for any question or concern. It was our first time in Ireland and we couldn’t have been in better hands or in a better location for exploring the island. Highly, highly recommend.
My family and I had an incredible stay at John's cottage. Quintessential Ireland experience. Lots of small towns and castles nearby and day trips accessible to larger areas like Galway, Cliffs by car. We will definitely return to this cottage on our next visit!
We really enjoyed this stay! If you are looking for a peaceful place in the true countryside of Ireland this is it. We were within 15/20 minutes of three different small towns (Roscrea, Birr and Cloughjordan) that had some options for food/shopping/gas. There are trails accessible from the home through the woods to a lake and other parts of the property, this was a huge highlight for us!

My wife and I live on the other side of our 450 acre farm and have been involved in self-catering for 29 years, only discovering AirBnB in the last few! We have put our heart and soul into designing the two cottages to ensure they are clean, cosy, bright (with great views) and fully equipped with all the mod cons you need! We are involved in farming, horse breeding, tourism. It is very important to us to conserve the natural beauty of our farm, making discrete pathways within and growing thousands of trees in the past decade, as well as preserving natural marshlands and a native ancient oakwood- one of very few remaining in Ireland! We love welcoming new people, hearing their stories and trying to make their stay here as enjoyable as possible. We're eager to hear from you, or answer any questions you may have! We also live on the other side of the farm and would love to meet and help you with any queries on your stay.
