My studio consists of a main room with comfy sofa-bed, kitchen, bathroom, separate WC, in the pleasant and lively Gambetta neighborhood full of shops and cafés, close to metro and many busses. Please keep in mind you'll be staying at my home, not a hotel! My studio is not renovated/not modernized, and always very clean, in an older building with elevator, floor 3. Please send me your desired arrival time and I'll do my best to be as accommodating as possible. Feb 2024: Road work in my street. As I travel quite often, I rent out my home - the place I really live in. It's in a lovely downtown Parisian neighborhood, Gambetta, 6 minutes walk from the famous Père Lachaise cemetery. The 30 m2 studio in a 1930's building is fully functional, but not modernized. My home is very sunny, has a separate kitchen (fridge, washing machine, gas stove/oven, toaster, water kettle, coffee press), bathroom with a high bathtub, and separate toilets. My apartment has an additional bedroom that you cannot see in the pictures as I never rent it out. During your stay, you'll have all the place to yourself (without the bedroom that is not in the pictures), so you won't have to share the studio with anyone but your travel companion. The main room, usually full of light - and with blinds if you need them - has a comfortable queen-size sofa-bed for everyday use (that's the reason I check the box "real bed") sleeping two (140cmx190cm). You'll find a ventilator for hot summer days. There is a small elevator in the building. The entrance to the building is secured with a 'badge' so only people who live there can enter the building. As you'll be staying at my place while I'm away, most of the time, my friend Annet or another friend of mine will be welcoming you at home. Therefore, I need your arrival time as soon as possible in order to organize your check-in with her. Please always double-check with me before booking if you need a specific check-in time. Bedding, sheets, and towels are provided. A fast WiFi internet connection (fibre optique) is included in the price. There is a typically Parisian street market with fresh produce (vegetables, fruits, cheese) every Wednesday and Saturday morning. A huge supermarket (Monoprix) with a wide range of organic options is just around the corner, as well as one of the finest bakeries in town. The area is full of smaller supermarkets (some very cheap ones) and shops (a special cheese shop and an excellent chocolate manufacturer, just to name the two). The MK2 cinema on place Gambetta shows films in their original version with subtitles, so mostly in English. If you're fluent in French, there are a famous national and several alternative theaters in the neighborhood. Not to forget all the cafés & eateries. In short, you'll be able to feel the vibrant and 'real' Parisian life outside your doorsteps. My flat is cleaned with environmentally friendly cleaners. Sustainability is part of my everyday life philosophy. If you have any kind of allergies, please let me know in advance and I'll do my best to meet your needs. If you are vegan, I'll be more than happy to provide you with specific groceries. I am a vegetarian myself and could give you suggestions on the best veggie places in Paris. As a non-smoker, I expect people not to smoke at home, and to be careful with my place. Feel free to contact me if you need more information of any kind. You can reach my place from CDG airport in 1h and from Orly airport in 1h10 using public transportation, and in 20 min by taxi (when no traffic jams). Metro stations Pelleport (line 3b, a 1-min-walk away from home), Gambetta (line 3 & 3b, a 5-min-walk away ), or Télégraphe (line 11, a 10-min-walk away). Directly from Gambetta, you'll reach République in 5 min, and Opéra in 14 min. Changing once: Louvre in 25 min, les Champs-Elysées in 30 min. From Télégraphe, you get to Beaubourg/Hôtel de Ville and Châtelet in 12-13 min. Downtown Paris (zone 1 for the public transportation system) means there are, besides three metro lines, several city bus lines running directly to all the important tourist sites. I always encourage my guests to take buses as it's a lovely way to explore the city, watching neighborhoods connect and change, making the discovery of Paris truly amazing. I provide a detailed guide to my home and neighborhood in English with suggestions on where to eat, shop, and how to get around, as well as many Paris city guides and a folder full of touristic leaflets. Bus 69 takes you directly to the Louvre, the Orsay Museum, the Invalides, and the Eiffel Tower and rides alongside the Seine to all those breathtaking spots Paris is famous for. Bus 96 takes you to the heart of Paris: the old Marais neighborhood, rue Oberkampf, Hôtel de Ville (the city hall of Paris), Châtelet, Notre Dame cathedral, St Michel, St Germain des Près, ending at the Montparnasse train station with trains leaving to the West of France. Bus 26 takes you through the bucolic East of Paris to the railroad stations Gare du Nord (Airport trains, Thalys, Eurostar), Gare de l'Est, and Gare St Lazare - all of them being major train stations. Bus 60 takes you to the beautiful Buttes Chaumont park nearby and to Montmartre. Bus 61 will take you in 15-20 minutes to the Gare de Lyon and Gare d'Austerlitz (two major train stations). Bus 64 starts at Porte des Lilas to the south-east of Paris, taking you to the bus and train station Bercy and the Bercy Village, then to the famous Bibliothèque area (and the beautiful Simone de Beauvoir wooden bridge), Place d'Italie (China town), ending at Denfert-Rochereau. All the listed busses stop close to home. If you enjoy biking, there is a Velib' station (public bikes) next to my place. I do expect my guests to be respectful of my neighbors and my place. My home is definitely NOT a party location. Use of the WASHING MACHINE: Please bring your own washing soap. Please make very sure to put all your clothes inside the washer drum so nothing slides outside the drum. During the last few months, guests blocked it twice with socks. The reparation cost is 90€. Coming from Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport is quite easy. - If you take a taxi: tell the driver to enter Paris through Porte de Bagnolet. It's very convenient as there is a direct highway to the airport (costs 53 EUR flat rate for up to 4 people) ; - If you take public transportation: suburban train RER B leaves CDG airport (both from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) and takes you to Gare du Nord train station in Paris. All RER B trains to leave CDG airport stop at Gare du Nord. Taking RER B and later the metro to get into Paris costs approx. 10 EUR per person (1 ticket for both the RER and metro). From ORLY airport, I'd suggest you take a taxi (38 € flat rate for up to 4 people). Or RER B + metro line 4 + metro line 3. From Gare de l'Est or Gare du Nord train stations, take metro line n° 5, direction Place d'Italie. Get off at République, change to line n° 3 direction Gallieni, get off at Gambetta. From Gare de Lyon or Gare d'Austerlitz train stations, take direct bus 61 direction Eglise de Pantin and get off at the stop Pelleport/Gambetta. From there, it's a one-minute walk to my place. From Gare Montparnasse train station, take direct bus 96 direction Porte des Lilas and get off at Ménilmontant/Pelleport stop. From there, it's a 1-min-walk home. From Gare St Lazare, take metro line 3 direction Gallieni and get off at Gambetta. From Gare de Bercy (train and intercity bus station) take bus 64 direction Gambetta and get off at Gambetta. From Gallieni international bus station, take metro line 3 and get off after 2 stops (3 minutes) at Gambetta. Please contact me through Airbnb. Faina est une hôte très accueillante et disponible, l’appartement dispose de tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour en plus d’être situé dans un quartier calme et agréable disposant de toutes les commodités à proximité. Je recommande !
This is my second stay at this Parisian flat in the 20th Arrondissement. This time, with an addition of magnificent magnolias in bloom right outside the building. I like this place for its charm and unpretentious cosiness. Area is wonderful, calm and away from touristic buzz.. City center with all the main highlights is within 30min metro ride. Faina, the host, was incredibly accommodating and provided excellent recommendations for local attractions. I highly recommend this hidden gem for an authentic Parisian experience. Can't wait to return!
