Communication with Iad went smoothly and her brother picked us up and drove us from the city twice, as there was 3 of us coming at 2 different times. This part was excellent! The house is great but not really private as it's on the corner between two streets and the walls surrounding it are about a meter high. From the photos, we expected something more secluded. Additionally, there's not much privacy inside the house either as both rooms and the bathroom share the same roof so you can hear pretty much everything. Also, as one of the previous guests mentioned, the family is a bit intrusive and they were coming and going all the time (2-3 times per day) to do something around the house, even to clean inside the house without anyone letting us know about this. There's also 2 entries to the yard out of which one isn't visible from the terrace so we would often only see them once they're next to us already and they would often not say anything so, even though I assume they did that so that they don't bother us, it may look like they were 'spying' on us. Considering it's not the cheapest place and that we rented the entire house, we didn't expect to have that much interaction with the hosts. The first 2-3 mornings we were awaken by them walking around the house and we were scared someone was stealing something. As we weren't notified about them coming and going (see 'Interaction with Guests' in description) we really weren't expecting this. All the things they were doing around the house can be easily (and cheaply) automated and we noticed they do have an electric timer for certain things so watering the garden or feeding the fish could've been handled in same manner. One more thing - there's no bathtub, just a shower. Not a big deal but a bit disappointing if you were expecting one.

Great communication with host, A+. Everything perfectly smooth which was much appreciated. House is charming with its wood structure and large garden. It is quite and safe, we slept very well. It has everything you need, though it might be a little bit difficult to access each parts when raining : kitchen is separated, terrace not fully covered. It was not a big deal for us. The house is located in the Mae Lao village some 12 or 13 km south from Chiang Rai city. You need a vehicle which can be provided by the host's family. Nice family, very pleasant though you might find people a little bit intrusive as they come and go on the property (feeding the fish in the very nice pond for example). Bear in mind that you might deal with animals from lizards (ranging from small to medium size) or whatever in and out. We found 2 dead large black scorpions under the house. It was not a big deal for us, and my 1 year old son played freely around without any problem. Overall, very pleasant stay in Chiang Rai thanks to this Airbnb experience. Recommanded.

We loved this amazing 'tree' house - very comfortable and beautiful. Staying outside CR suited us; we enjoyed cycling in the surrounding country side and visiting the local market. However, a car or motor bike is essential. The family of the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, which made our visit more like a homestay. Our week here was a highlight of our holiday in Thailand.'
