We had an excellent time at the Rusty Pelican. Very well located very close to Le Morne beach with lots of excellent restaurants nearby. The apartment was very clean and the sounds of the birds in the garden each morning were lovely. Very clean, would definitely stay there again.

It's definitely a little rusty, as the name suggests. The apartment is quite spacious and generally well equipped. The maintenance is ok, there were some updates since the photos were taken, although some fabrics etc. could use some wash and air or change. The garden and pool area is nice, attracting a lot of wildlife like birds insects and even monkeys. Unfortunately mosquitos like it as well, so a late afternoon or evening swim were rather problematic. Luckily there were mosquito repellents in the apartment and nets over the beds, even over the baby cot. The hosts are great and always willing to help. They absolutely want to make your stay as good as possible. They even helped us get our belongings back which we forgot when checking out. Overall it's a nice place that needs just a little more maintenance or a little refresh here and there. The location is a good start for exploring southern parts of the island - the prettiest and most nature rich parts of Mauritius.

Very nice and spacious flat. The pool area is so relaxing. The host is friendly, responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My recent Airbnb stay had its ups and downs. Communication with the owner was smooth, with helpful messages and even a pre-arrival video guide. However, locating my room was a bit tricky, and while the cleaning staff that helped me locate the room were polite, a warmer welcome would have been appreciated. The property somewhat matched the pictures, but the reality felt way dimmer and older than expected. Also, there was some maintenance work near the pool, which disrupted the peaceful atmosphere with welding sounds and smells. Inside, the couch didn't quite match the vibrant striped orange depicted in the photos, covered instead with a old dark blue sheet. Despite these drawbacks, the property was clean and conveniently located near restaurants. Overall, while it may not have been the idyllic getaway I had envisioned, it still offers decent value for those seeking accommodation in the area, with potential for improvement in certain aspects.
