Our stay at the Stone House with Joe was amazing. He was the best host and made us a wonderful homemade breakfast each morning. Joe was welcoming and kind. He’s also an incredible pianist. I can’t recommend his home enough!!
Joseph’s guest cabin was perfect for my one night stay over in Natchez. Excellent parking, great communication, privacy, and a delightful home cooked breakfast. Will definitely be back!
This is a unique and special accommodation! Joseph's historic house and the lovely guest house we stayed in are filled with history and beautifully decorated. Everything was spotless and the antique maps, furniture, and photographs impressed us. The host is very knowledgable and a pleasure to have a conversation with. He was kind enough to share his insights and tell us about his passion for antiques and maps. On top of that, he cooked us a delicious brekafast from scratch, which was served on his historic china, and was extremely helpful. Thank you, Joseph! We would love to return!
Stone house is absolutely lovely and Joe is a wonderful host! It is very elegant but not pretentious. It is somehow formal and cozy all at once. It’s a home, a museum, an art gallery and a history lesson all in one. On top of everything else, Joe is a talented pianist and graced us with a lovely private concert. He is a charming Southern Gentleman/Renaissance Man and an absolute delight to talk with. His co-host, “Precious” lives up to her name in every way. If you’re lucky, she may even come to call on you at the cottage once in a while. The cottage and the house are beautiful. Joe has clearly put a lot of heart and soul into restoration. Any small imperfection is really just it’s character showing through. A house with that much history can’t exist without character and a thousand fascinating stories behind it. I can’t say enough good things about our time there. We were not ready to go and we will definitely return. 1000 words are not enough for my review. Thank you, Joe….

自我介绍
Joseph Stone was raised at the Stone House in Natchez, which he now operates as a bed and breakfast. His great-grandparents bought the house more than 140 years ago in the year 1877. After finishing high school in Natchez, Joe obtained classical performance degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He first studied piano in childhood, and later switched to the clarinet before entering conservatory. Classical piano also was studied privately for the Bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School. A professional clarinetist for over 20 years, his extensive musical career featured solo performances of Claude Debussy's Première Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Orchestra with the Rochester Philharmonic in the Eastman Theatre, and the Mozart Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in New York City's Alice Tully Hall and at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus. His chamber music appearances in New York at Carnegie (Weill) Recital Hall and Merkin Concert Hall, and at the Library of Congress and the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. among others, presented premiere performances of works by composers such as Karel Husa, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Jacob Druckman, George Perle, John Cage and Roberto Sierra, garnering enthusiastic praise from critics in The New York Times, The Village Voice, and The Washington Post; other performances on tours across the United States, in Canada and Puerto Rico received excellent reviews locally. Chamber music residencies were served at New York's Hunter College and the Americas Society/Center for Inter-American Relations. Joseph has played only piano for the past 22 years, and 13 years ago he returned to Rochester for piano studies with Howard Spindler, Chair, Piano Department, Eastman Community Music School. Since launching the piano concert series at Stone House he has performed piano recitals for over 200 group tours booked by 30 different tour operators. Some of the elite groups for which he has performed at the Stone House include Trafalgar, American Cruise Lines, Histoire Voyages, Nomads Travel of Detroit, Walter Anderson Museum of Art, Silver Bay Tours of California, Tauck Tours of Memphis, Ken Ward Travel of Atlanta, Lighthouse Tours, Elderhostel, Globe Treks, Exploritas, and Road Scholars, as well as for the Rector of Voronezh University, Russia and his entourage. Additionally more than 800 piano performances have been presented for Stone House Bed and Breakfast guests and other individual tourists visiting Natchez. He has played fundraisers for the Natchez Festival of Music both at Holly Hedges and at the Stone House. He has appeared as pianist at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, MS as the entertainer for 'Natchez Day', a day celebrating arts in Natchez which was the culmination of a week-long exhibit dedicated to Natchez artists; and at the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, where he played a classical piano introduction to a catwalk fashion show presented by Prophetik Designs.
