We had a wonderful week at Villa Nireaus. The Villa is just as lovely as in the photos and in a really peaceful location with amazing views! The directions from the airport were great and easy to follow so we found the villa without any issues. Great communication from the team at Freelance Villas and a very quick response to our request. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay again😁

We really enjoyed our stay here. The outside area of the villa is amazing, with a fantastic pool and excellent BBQ area. The balcony overlooking the stunning view is also superb. Yes there are a few wasps here, but that’s to be expected, and as long as you don’t leave any food or drink outside you are fine. We did think the bedrooms were a bit small, and it would have made much more sense if the master bedroom had the bigger en-suite bathroom. Air conditioning was a big plus point through the hot August nights!

1. The villa itself is beautiful. Locating it initially may be a bit of a challenge for some but that can be addressed with effective communication. Request the location pin be sent to you beforehand. 2. It seems for the past couple years, certain parts of Kefalonia have been infested with a particular type of hornet/wasp during the summer months especially. They were on the compound of this villa by the hundreds when we arrived (we have photographic evidence of this, it is no exaggeration). This reality greatly limited our ability to enjoy the pool, back patio and BBQ areas. It is a serious concern particularly for those who may have allergies or sensitivity to stings from such insects. This reality was never mentioned when we booked the villa nor when I wrote a couple days before arriving to ask if all was well at the villa, though there was awareness of this issue by those responsible for the location. 3. We did have a challenge with no water availability for a short period when we first arrived but that was sorted out quickly. 4. I had requested a "starter grocery pack" but was told that could not have been facilitated because I did not request it 7 days in advance. At no point prior was that condition shared with me. The major issue was effective communication and management of expectations. When I raised initial concerns in a non confrontational manner with a Freelance rep initially, the response left something to be desired until I highlighted that the tone of the response was not necessary nor appreciated. I believe that: 1. Once proper and separate options for directions are supplied, 2. If one prepares for the wasp situation and appreciates how that can impact their enjoyment of the external part of the compound, 3. If one places any requests for grocery items 7 days prior to arrival (esp if you are coming in on a late flight and shopping that same day will not be an option for you). 4. If you are prepared to expect to be told it is preferable that you vacate the villa before 10am on Fridays to facilitate housekeeping staff.... all should be well. The villa itself and the views are gogorgeous. Manage the above and you should have a positive stay.

A really wonderful Villa in a nice location just outside the lovely small harbour town of Sami. This Villa has everything you need for a nice relaxing stay and we had the best time. Well run and everything was smooth. Might come back one day! Thoroughly recommend to those sifting through Kefalonia reviews. Get a car a explore some of the island knowing you have a lovely Villa as a base!
