The house is situeted in the historical centre of the town; it has recently been renovated and , where possible, the original doors and the floor have been kept which is what makes this apartment quite unique. Shops, restaurants, cafes and Palazzolo's amazing pastry shops all within close walking distance. CIR (regional identification code) 19089015C215489 It is located on the first and second floor of a building of the early 20th century, with an Art Nouveau facade. On the 1st floor there is: a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven and snack table complete with all kinds of kitchenware, dishes, mugs, cups, cutlery and table cloths, a living room with a TV and a sofa that can be turned into a bed and a bathroom with shower. On the 2nd floor there is: a double bedroom and a second bedroom with a bunk bed and a drawer bed and a bathroom with shower. On request we can add a cot for babies. The terrace is the best feature of this house, from there you can enjoy a magnificent view over the rooftops of Palazzolo Acreide, Hyblaean mountains and Etna. The location of the house allows you to live , following a few steps on foot the city nightlife but also be able to rest at night without being disturbed by noises. The house doesn't have Wi-Fi , we think that sometimes it is useful to disconnect the connection again to appreciate the finer things in life, such as listening to bells, the verses of the swallows, have a drink while watching the stars or sunset from the terrace...why not just to find the pleasure of a chat with friends :-)

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Stefania. Stefania était très réactive et nous a donné des conseils pour profiter au mieux du charmant village de Palazzolo Acreide. L’appartement était très agréable, propre et paisible. Un excellent camp de base pour rayonner dans la région (Syracuse, Ragusa, Noto…). Merci encore à Stefania pour son accueil, je recommande ce logement !
A wonderful time in a wonderful apartment, in a wonderful city
Un appartement très bien décoré, très bien équipé et des hôtes aux petits soins. Tout est fait pour qu on se sente bien dès l arrivée, comme à la maison. De nombreuses attentions : plans en français avec les emplacements importants de la ville, dépliants touristiques, explications claires. Bref un super séjour, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !
Esperienza molto positiva. La casa è molto bella come da descrizione fornita. Host molto attenta a accogliere gli ospiti, con piccole attenzioni come far trovare delle bevanfe fresche in frigo e l'occorrente per una pasta veloce. Molto gradite le cialde del caffè, cone tutto ciò che serve per brevi soggiorni e che sarebbe scomodo acquistare, sale zucchero caffè olio piatti di carta salviette scottex, nonché materiale per la pulizia. Mai trovato in precedenza un'attenzione simile. Sicuramente consigliato
Sejour très agréable, le soleil le matin au réveil , appartement confortable et très propre. Accueil chaleureux. Petite ville authentique avec un merveilleux théâtre Grec, un beau musée archéologique. Habitants serviables. Appartement calme. En conclusion nous recommandons vivement cette location.

The house is located in the historic center of the town - St. Anthony neighborhood - (just a few minutes walk from the main square of Palazzolo Acreide) . Precisely, the way it was "Vecchia trazzera Regia", the first carriage road to Palazzolo Acreide, now Via Garibaldi. This way you can see on the left side, palaces 800 'and 700', including the famous balcony of Palazzo Judica-Cafici, the world's longest baroque balcony with beautiful corbels depicting masks and mythical animals.
Palazzolo Acreide is a town in the Hyblaean mountains founded by Syracuse in 664 b.C, which has become part of the group of "the most beautiful villages in Italy", and the circuit of "the Baroque of Val di Noto", where Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture blend perfectly. The town is a UNESCO heritage site for the Baroque facades of its churches and for celebrations of St.Paul and St. Sebastian, which should be seen at least once in a lifetime.
If you decide to stay in the town you can admire the archaeological area and the Greek Theater, and also visit the new archaeological museum that preserves the first registration of the place name “Akrai” (it is located in the parallel street on Via Garibaldi), the Traveller’s museum, the Antonino Uccello House museum which will take you back in time, through its collection of ethnographic Sicilian artefacts, the remains of the Norman castle and medieval urban layout, the Historical Garden dating back to the late 19th century. These are some of the many attractions of Palazzolo Acreide.
In the local area you will find every thing you need for a great stay, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, pubs, pastry shops with Sicilian specialties, pizzerias, all within walking distance of the house.
The local food and wine will not disappoint you: the "sasizza" (pork sausage seasoned with fennel red pepper), truffles, home made pasta with pork sauce, mushrooms, Sicilian pastries etc...
As with many historical houses in Palazzolo Acreide parking is available on the main street or in the immediate vicinity.
But if you wish to enjoy the surrounding area, Palazzolo Acreide is a strategic place to reach the “Oriented” Nature Reserve , 30 minutes by car , in the Pantalica Valley of the Anapo river where the gorges, the remains of the necropolis of Pantalica, and the pristine nature will catapult you into a new dimension where you can walk or cycle and .... if you are lucky you can also admire the wild orchid.
A few kilometers away , 40 minutes by car , you can reach the nature reserve of Vendicari where you can dive into the clear blue sea and observe pink flamingos up close, a priceless experience.
Nearby towns of Siracusa ( 40 minutes by car ), Ragusa ( 50 minutes), Modica ( 54 minutes ), Noto ( 35 minutes ) are famous for their unique landscape and Baroque Street worth visiting, Caltagirone (1 hour), Piazza Armerina (1 hour and 30 minutes).
Do not forget to visit also the fishing village of Marzamemi ( 1 hour ) or the medieval village of Buccheri (20 minutes by car) also within easy reach.
Palazzolo Acreide is a great place to base yourself to explore South-East Sicily
