A charming Airbnb on a small farm near Bayeux. The guesthouse is attached to the owners’ home, and Marc (and his dog) warmly welcomed us at check-in. The place was very clean with a well-equipped kitchen and grill set. The beds were comfy, and the house was quiet. Heating included a wood stove, which was cool. However, our experience soured due to two unprofessional interactions with the owners: 1. Marc doubled the extra guest fee vs the amount shown on the official BNB listing. As we requested extra guests on the check-in day, we had little other options. 2. Despite the house rules being standard (gather linens, take out the trash, turn off lights, clean dishes, etc.) at checkout Carole said we were responsible for cleaning the house to a “guest ready” state for the next visitors as we didn’t buy their €80 supplemental cleaning package. As we had dogs, we vacuumed, mopped and cleaned to any reasonable standard. These interactions marred an otherwise pleasant stay.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Marc et Carole. Le logement est chaleureux (poêle et bois à disposition), et bien situé (5min en voiture de Bayeux et 15-20min en voiture des plages). Marc et Carole nous ont très bien accueilli, nous avons même pu prendre un petit déjeuner en complément, déposé devant notre porte, il n’y a pas mieux !

Merci à Marc pour son accueil chaleureux. Son gîte est idéalement situé, très bien équipé on s’y sent comme à la maison. Nous gardons cette adresse pour un prochain séjour. Merci.

You couldn’t find a kinder host than Marc and his wife. Their home has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Beds are comfortable, quiet atmosphere and a full kitchen. The French country side is wonderful yet close to Bayeux. I highly recommend.
