Beautiful place in a convenient location. Ikea and the shopping mall and the MTR station is few minutes walk away. The place is neat and tidy, and the view is amazing. We highly recommend Sven’s Place! Sven is an Awesome Host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the flat in Hong Kong. We travelled as a family and it was great having an entire flat to ourselves. Everybody, including our children, had their own rooms. (There was even a set of bunk beds in one of the rooms.) The flat is a five minute walk from the Sha Tin MTR station and is very near the large “New Town Plaza” mall in Sha Tin where you can take care of all of your shopping needs (groceries, eating out, etc.). The flat is equipped as you would expect - fridge, stove, microwave, etc. We definitely appreciated the washer / dryer combo and the very reliable wifi. The extra bathrooms are very handy and the flat is modernly designed and furnished. It is an upgrade on most village homes. The storage within the rooms is great. The beds are short compared to North American standards - if you are over six feet tall, be prepared to sleep diagonally. Our communication with Sven was excellent. Although he was twelve hours ahead of us (time zones), he responded promptly to our questions and went out of his way to accommodate our requests (i.e. a night light for our daughter). Sven met us at the ShaTin MTR station and walked us up to the flat. Having lived in Hong Kong many years ago, we did not find the climb up to the flat overly difficult but it is important to mention that there is a climb of about 100 steps to the flat. Make sure that your luggage is easy to carry and it would probably make sense to ensure that you have a knapsack in the event that you are going to be carrying groceries up to the flat. The flat is nestled on the side of a hill, amongst other village homes. The character of the neighbourhood is interesting - lots of vegetation, amongst local residents flats and a short walk to the 10 000 Buddha’s Monastery. We woke up to birds chirping every morning - which is real treat for Hong Kong standards. If we were planning to return to Hong Kong in the near future, we would definitely arrange to stay here again.

This is an extension of the last booking. As stated previously, Sven is a great host who offered quite a lot of free facilities as well as food and drinks. The communication between us was pretty smooth, and I really look forward to our next stay.

Sven is a wonderful host, caring and considerate, he picked us up at the bus station and helped with our luggage, and he also prepared some food and fruit for us. The apartment is very neat and tidy, everything is very well organized. The location is really good, accessible to metro station, shopping malls, various restaurants as well as the supermarkets.

Apartment is located at a convenient location, easily get to most of the attractions by train. Train station is 2 mins from the apartment. However, the apartment is on top of the hill top, need to climb a fair bit of stairs. My 7yrs old boy enjoyed the stairs climbing though.Can't wait for the apartment to be fully completed, would be a 5 stars apartment upon completion. Sven is always there for you 24/7 as he is a phone call away. He is definitely an awesome host!
