The cortijo was originally built in the 18th century. It was restored in 1990, and divided into three independent houses. The cortijo received awards for its unique traditional style by the local Malaga council. There are several sports facilities: swimming pool, tennis court, paddle, table tennis and football pitch. The three houses have beautiful gardens with eucalyptus, pine trees & cypresses. The cortijo is surrounded by over 260 hectares of farm land. There are over 100 hectares of forests and plantations of wheat, barley and sunflowers, as well as almond and olive trees. The Cortijo is in the perfect location: 8km from the nearest town (Campillos), which means clean air, peace & quiet and intimacy. Campillos is an active commercial town with all basic services. The three houses of the Cortijo are the Señorío, the Arab House and the Casita del Pastor. The Señorío is the noble part of the Cortijo and consists of a porch, two floors and a beautiful courtyard. Ground floor: Entrance and toilet. Large kitchen-dining room, both with fireplaces. It also has a large living room for 30 people, also with a fireplace. First floor: 6 bedrooms (2 of 3 beds, 4 of 2), Library, together with a large balcony. The rest outdoors is covered in Spring and Summer with vines. Arab House consists porch. Large living room with fireplace and beautiful old arches with 17th Century columns. Kitchen, 3 bedrooms. Casita del Pastor: Living room with fireplace and kitchen. 3 bedrooms with three bathrooms.

Fantastic country house, ideal for large groups. Blanca was very hospitable, although early check in would have been appreciated for the few guys who arrived early to prepare the arrival of the group. Local town is 7km away so transportation is required

The property was brilliant, Blanca was very accommodating and welcoming all week and very quick to respond to any problems that we had. The house is in a prime location for any holiday to the region. It is extremely accessible but at the same time very peaceful.

We have spent lovely holidays in Bianca's house. We especially would recommend the place for bigger/mixed groups who search for the real countryside area and feel good with each other. There is plenty of space everywhere to play and to spend some time alone if needed.

Very nice Farm House, which we used for 22 people, including 13 young people age 10-20. Blanca very helpful up to and during stay, she even arranged external catering for one night and during stay assistant José was always available for any support needed. Pool, table tennis, tennis available and in good condition. Great near by facilities with lakes for swimming and cliff diving, trekking, gokart and supermarkets/restaurants only 10 mins away. The house it self has kept the original style and is well maintained. Sufficient cooling facilities in place (4 frig's + 3 freezers) even in very warm period up to 40 degrees.

Blanca was a wonderful host and we loved our two week stay at the historical, rustic farmhouse. She met us at the charming property on the first day and gave us a tour and even took us to the local supermarket in Campillos to point out local produce. Blanca gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and we were thrilled when she brought us churros and chocolate sauce for our first breakfast, which was delicious! She also organised a chef to come one night and cook paella for a big group of us, which was a big hit. The property is vast, has two idyllic courtyards which are fantastic for entertaining friends and family and the pool, table tennis and paddle-ball court were enjoyed by all immensely. This is a wonderful place for large groups of family and friends and is well situated for day-trips to picturesque Spanish towns such as Ronda and Antequera.

Natural environment. five Wonders:

1. El Chorro Reservoir, El Chorro is a breathtaking gorge formed by the river. 200 meters high, with a narrow opening leading to the reservoir now formed by the new dam, it is an amazing site. (15 minutes drive)
2- El Torcal (Antequera) is a fantastic mix of rock formation popular formed over millions of years and are enjoyed by walkers of all ages. (40 minutes drive)
3. The Fuente de Piedra lagoon (Antequera): This national park, , has been declared of special interest for its birds, as well as hosting a beautiful lagoon, the biggest in Spain (2.5 Kms wide and 6.5 Kms long). It’s a paradise for birds with almost 170 different species. (25 minutes drive)
4- Bobastro: There are two places of interest at Bobastro, both of which are amazing technical achievements separated by 11 centuries; the ruins of the 9th Century church and the mountain top reservoir.(20 minites drive).
5-Nerja Caves: Under gound caverns with stalagmites, stalagmites and columns. These are breathtaking beautiful caves, some of the best in Europe, that should not be missed if the opportunity arises. Each July a festival of flamenco music and dance is held inside the caves. (one hour and a half drive.
Historic-artistic surroundings
Near from the Cortijo there are four villages with noteworthy exhibits of art and history:
Campillos. Church (XVI-XVII century) with a beautiful baroque façade.
Teba. Castillo de la Estrella (s. X), Santa Cruz Baroque church. Urban area declared a 'National Heritage'.
Ardales. Typical 'white village' with singular prehistoric cave and the ruins of Bobastro, home of the first uprising (s X) of the Andalusian people against Muslim rule.
Carratraca. Carratraca. It has the unique bullring carved in stone in the world and a historic Spa resort frequented (nineteenth century) by Eugenia de Montijo, Empress of France.
For midday visit
Ronda, Andalusia romantic capital for its scenery and the birthplace of bullfighting. It is the third most visited city in the region, after Granada and Seville.
Antequera, Andalusia Florence called for its 37 churches, its collegiate church, dolmens ...
Osuna, Ducal city or the three cathedrals, stately homes and full of well preserved palaces.
For one day -visit:
Besides the great tourist capitals (Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba y Málaga) recommend Jerez, the birthplace of the wine its name, the flamenco and home to a famous riding school with weekly exhibitions. Near Jerez, on the road to Campillos, there is a unique and beautiful town: Arcos de la Frontera
