Beautiful place to stay! We loved our little retreat away from busy life. However, to re-emphasize some other points: 1) do not attempt to drive to this location unless you are a VERY confident driver, this driveway is not for the faint of heart. 2) there were no spices or oil of any kind, and no nearby store, bring your own 3) there’s a BEAUTIFUL hike to a waterfall, just down the road, a must see. Overall, a great place to escape to, but don’t expect much to do other than enjoying the outdoors!! Also a great movie selection and wonderful heated floors in the bathroom.

What an amazing lodge. Such creativity in the decor is rare. A beautiful place with wooden floors, fireplace, bath and a kitchen that is so well equipped. Even a selection of CD movies which was lovely on a rainy day. Up on the hill of the town and so tranquil. Absolutely loved it. Matthew is also very responsive. A real gem to stay at.

Salz, Pfeffer,Öl und Lebensmittel mitnehmen. Die Unterkunft befindet sich im steinigen Karst. Autofahren mach keinen Spaß. Extrem steile, extrem enge Strassen. Im Dorf und in der unmittelbaren Umgebung gibt es keine Lebensmittelgeschäft und keinen Platz wo man Essen hingehen kann. Zwar ist die Unterkunft von Tolmin nur 10 km entfernt aber die engen, steilen Strassen sind es zu einer echten Challenge und Autofahren langsam und schwierig. Wer die Einöde sucht, kann hier sicher toll Urlaub machen. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wirkt so als wenn ein Architekt die Einrichtung gemacht hätte und später noch ein paar Dinge ergänzt wurden, die vom Stil gar nicht dazu passen. Der Vorplatz zum Sitzen ist mit Kiselsteinen bedeckt Tische und Sessel sind im Vergleich zur Inneneinrichtung sehr basic und man sinkt mit den spitzen Metallbeinen stark im Kies ein. Auch der Essplatz in der Küche bricht den sonst sehr hochwertigen Stil.

The Carpenters Lodge is an absolutely gorgeous house in a really sweet village not far from Tolmin. We loved how cosy it was, the baths and the old worldly feel of the house and found the village peaceful (except the 7am bells!) and the locals friendly. We were however disappointed in the lack of the 'small things' that come in other air bnbs that elevate your experience. For example, no tea and coffee, TV is very dated (no Netflix, just a DVD), untidy / cluttered cupboard under the sink and outside furniture quite tired. The outside space looks a lot bigger in pictures and has no view (a trim of the trees could easily solve this). There is only one sofa which was fine for the two of us but we did think a family of four would struggle to relax properly. All in all we had a lovely time and would recommend but it was a shame about these elements.
