Condé-en-Normandie · 整套乡村小屋 · 3室4床1.0卫 · 可住5人 · Converted hay barn on the edge of Swiss Normandy
Nestled in a stunning valley on the edge of Swiss Normandy, Eco-Gites of Lenault is a haven of tranquilly where Rosie and Simon look forward to meeting you on your Normandy adventure. Relax in peace, surrounded by countryside and wildlife or head out and explore all Normandy has to offer - the choice is yours. An ideal stay for nature lovers, birdwatchers, photographers, hikers. With 3 bedrooms (sleeps 5) this is a popular choice with families, groups of friends and couples. Eco-Gites of Lenault is a spacious 3 bedroom gite, sleeping 5, situated in the beautiful Calvados countryside just an hour south of Caen ferry port and on the edge of Swiss Normandy (Department of Normandy). It has been equipped to a high standard and makes a great base for all adult groups or families travelling with children. Downstairs is open plan over 2 levels, separated by a balustrade which succeeds in being both spacious and cosy. On the upper level is a large well-equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher, microwave and cooker as well as plenty of storage space for bags, coats and shoes. 3 steps lead down to the large dining room and lounge area and the wood burner as a focal feature. Upstairs is the master bedroom with double bed and the twin bedroom with 2 full sized twin beds. A second staircase takes you to the mezzanine with a full sized single bed. The mezzanine room also acts as a play room with toys, games and books supplied. This room does not have a door and we do not recommend that children under 5 sleep here. We do however provide a stair gate. All bedrooms have room to take a travel cot which we can supply. The bathroom is also upstairs where there is a large shower, toilet, basin and washing machine. We wish to make your stay here as pleasant and relaxing as possible so we supply or offer all of the following: * A welcome box including local cider * A comprehensive tourist pack * For travellers with young children we supply much of the kit you might need - cot, high chairs, booster seat, potty, changing mat, toys, plastic cutlery and crockery, bed-guard, fire-guard, stair gates, night light etc. Outside is your own terraced garden with table and chairs, large sun umbrella and BBQ. Sun loungers are also available. A few meters away is the large play area, a play barn, a boules pitch. Visitors of all ages have the chance to meet our animals. The gite, a restored hay barn, has been created using reclaimed, reused and eco-friendly materials & furnishings. It is insulated to a very high level and with the efficient wood-burner warming the whole building, it is also great for cosy (and romantic!) out of peak season stays.
From the moment we arrived at Eco Gites de Lénault Rosie and Simon extended such a warm and generous welcome to our family. The stove in the kitchen was glowing (on a miserable day) and we had everything we could possibly need for our 3 night stay (including milk, biscuits, eggs and lovely cider as a welcome gift) . The children especially loved the calm rural setting and were delighted to help feed the pigs and collect eggs from the hens. The gite is cosy, spotless, spacious and extremely well equipped. We had such a lovely stay and will certainly recommend Eco Gites de Lénault to our friends and family. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.
Now and then you are lucky to find a rare gem between the Gites offered through AirBNB. This is one of them. Great house complete with everything you possibly may need during your vacation owned by the most friendly couple you can imagine! Lot’s of small farm animals on the farm and places to play or sit down for a drinking or meal. Would definitely recommend to everybody. Especially families with children. Than you for a great week!
Rosie was a lovely and acommodating host, and the gite was nice. Definitely a good place for a family with a play area for the kids (gives you a chance to relax).
Our family of 5 had a great time staying in Rosie and Simon's converted barn / Gite. Our kids loved being around so many animals and would have slept on the trampoline if allowed. Rosie and Simon were great hosts, friendly to us and our children, and very knowledgable about the area. A place to visit again.
Situated in rural Normandy on the edge of the Swiss Normandy region we are a rural retreat of peace and calm. However around and about there is simply so much to do that many of our guests have returned (some up to 5 times). Popular destinations all within easy reach include Mont St Michel, Bayeux with the Tapestry, Falaise Castle, the birthplace of William the Conqueror, the city of Caen, Jurques Zoo, Honfleur, Deauville, FestyLand Theme Park and the D-Day Landing beaches (which are wonderfully family friendly).
There are markets in local towns on every day. Other attractions close-by include 2 velo-railways, many art galleries and museums, swimming pools and soft play areas. There are also a wide range of events, concerts and exhibitions throughout the year.
For thrill seekers all the following are available locally - bungy jumping, zip wires, cliff-side walks, tree top trails, kayaking, dry toboggan runs (luge) and paragliding. Are you brave enough to give these a go?
An extensive network of footpaths starts right from our back gate so you can explore and enjoy the local countryside on foot or bike. There are 2 riding stables locally.
Mind you, if you have children you may have difficulty getting them to leave the play area - the most common thing we hear is "Do we have to go? We are having so much fun here!"
Public transport is limited and a car is recommended.
We have on site parking for a car (please let us know if bring more than one car or a trailer so we can ensure space is available) and we have a barn where you can store bicycles, motorbikes and/or your roof rack.
自我介绍
I was born in The Cotswolds in England and spent my childhood on a farm. After graduating from Newcastle University in Agriculture and Environmental Science I worked first for The National Trust and then for Kent County Council as a Countryside Officer. This was where I met Simon, my husband. Simon set up a business of countryside management and I joined him a few years later specialising in school grounds development and environmental education. This included working with special needs children for over 7 years. We started a family in 2002 and in 2007 moved to Lenault in Normandy, France with our boys then aged 4 and 5. This enabled us to realise our dream of having a smallholding and opening an gite. We now produce much of our own meat, vegetables and fruit. Depending on the time of year we have pigs, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks as well as our 2 dogs and 4 cats. I love hippos but sadly can't have one here so have to make do with pigs! Simon is more the traveller than me having spent time in Australia and many countries throughout Europe. He now skis with the boys once a year but our other journeys are usually just to the UK to catch up with family and friends. We now spend our time welcoming guests from all over the world who want to come and share our little corner of Normandy. Since opening the gite in 2010 we have had guests from 14 countries aged from 9 weeks to 87 years old! We look forward to welcoming you and aim to provide you with a holiday that is both relaxing and fun!
