A beautiful historic townhouse in a very convenient location - only minutes to the river and local shops and restaurants. Great boulangerie close by for breakfast! Had a relaxing week here exploring the area with our 2 almost teenage boys. Recommended day trips to Tours de Merle and Gouffre de Padirac, plus time relaxing on the river with canoes, SUPs and inflatables. Hot and busy in August so we went out early to avoid the crowds, although Beaulieu seemed quite peaceful compared to other towns in the area. Would also recommend the owner's other property in Berbigueres where we spent 4 nights :-) Thanks so much Rae-Helen and Neil for all your help and advice. Lovely surprise to have freshly baked cake and chilled wine on arrival after a long journey!

This superb, beautifully restored and delightfully furnished mediaeval house is a joy to live in. The location is a delight too - within the old city walls and a few steps ( along a lantern-lit street which looks like a film set) from the cathedral, a boulangerie and other shops, the main square ( where a market is held and there is also a supermarket) and many great bars and restaurants. The location is very quiet and tranquil , the house warm , cosy and restful. The TV is pre- equipped with a huge choice of English films. The rooms are very spacious: the bedding and beds extremely comfortable . The washing machine and dryer were a bonus. We always parked easily close to the house ( you can unload outside the front door). Communication with the owner Rae-Helen was very swift and always helpful ; check in was easy, and Emily the English manager, did a great job in preparing the house. The kitchen is well equipped, and is located at one end of the enormous main room with its banqueting table ! I don't think we've ever stayed in such a wonderful house and we'd like to thank Rae-Helen for giving us the opportunity to share it. There is so much to explore in this stunning area that, despite having visited the amazing Gouffre de Padirac ( with its amazing cathedral- like caves and a boat trip in the underground lake and river, Rocamadour, Collonges la Rouge and St. Cere, there are so many places still to see that I hope we'll be able to return here soon.

Fabuleux séjour passé au cœur de cette magnifique région. Beaulieu est ville où règne la douceur de vivre. Son bord de Dordogne est splendide. La maison de Rae-Helen est idéalement située, chaleureuse,bien équipée et très propre. Emily,la Manager nous très bien accueilli. Nous vous recommandons cette adresse
