Nestled among the tree-lined streets of Halifax's charming, safe and residential "South End", most of the "downtown" is a 10-20 minute walk away. Forested Point Pleasant Park with walking, running & cycling trails; the Victorian Public Gardens; the Farmer's Market (bustling & a MUST on Saturdays!) and boardwalks along the downtown waterfront of the Atlantic Ocean are minutes away. The universities & hospitals, shops, nightlife and restaurants are, similarly, just a short walk from home.
For those of you who arrive with a CAR, there is only 1-hr street PARKING in front of the house from 10 am-4pm, unlimited nights & weekends. Alternatively, there is paid ($10/day) as well as unlimited, free daily parking 2 blocks away. We “may” be able to allow you to park in our driveway. Monday nights are street-cleaning which means parking on an adjacent street, and if it snows, there can be a Winter Parking Ban overnight(s).

Bus stops are at the end of our street (#s 9,10,14,17) and can take you short distances, quite far outside the city, or for a ferry ride with spectacular views across the Halifax Harbour & back - all for the cost of a bus ticket. Free to seniors on Tuesdays. Bicycle tours & rentals, whale-watching, fishing, sailing and sightseeing excursions are available nearby.
