Ca' Drauto on Panarea is a magical place to stay, we highly recommend it! The view from the roof is especially spectacular. We loved having leisurely meals up there, making pizza in the outdoor oven, and lying in the hammock enjoying the breeze, listening to the birds, smelling the honeysuckle, and at night watching the clouds roll past the full moon. You will most certainly not regret your stay here. That said, be aware that this is a rustic Italian home, which means you have to be comfortable with an occasional lizard in your bedroom or bug in the shower, mattresses that are rather hard, and hot water that runs out after one or two showers (the hot water tank refills itself eventually, but it takes a little while). Personally, I found these things well worth it for the experience of staying in such a beautiful, tranquil home that makes you feel connected to the natural beauty of the Aeolian islands. We're giving a four star review only because when we arrived (and we arrived three hours late) the house still wasn't ready. The caretaker, Marina, hadn't gotten the message that we were coming that day, so the house still hadn't been cleaned and prepped and we had to go hang out at a nearby restaurant for an hour or so until the house was ready. Marina also seemed really mad that we were there and asked us to pay her 150 euro. Later, Barbara informed us that there was a 150 euro cleaning fee. That was a surprise to us. The whole thing sounds like a simple miscommunication, but it was a bit frustrating as we were tired from traveling to the islands. I think it's an easily solved problem, either include a cleaning fee in the AirBnB booking, or inform guests a head of time that they will need to leave cash for cleaning. Even with an additional cleaning fee, the value of our stay at Ca' Drauto was well worth the cost. We highly recommend it.

Barbara's house is perfectly located in a quiet part of the island about a 10-12 minute leisurely walk from the port. The rooftop patio is heavenly with a priceless view of the sea. The house is accurately described by Barbara and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation. Barbara arranged for a taxi service when we arrived to bring our baggage to her house which was a nice touch. She provided a good summary of places to eat, shop etc. The only small issue was that the wi-fi wasn't working but the rooftop patio made this irrelevant especially given that we were looking to disconnect. Did I mention the view from the rooftop patio?! Can't wait to go back.

La casa di Barbara è perfetta per una vacanza immersi nella bellezza e nella tranquillità. Massima Pulizia, accoglienza puntuale, consigli utilissimi e un'atmosfera unica è quello che vi aspetta scegliendo di soggiornare in questa casa. la terrazza con la sua vista mozzafiato è stata la location perfetta per i nostri aperitivi. Barbara's house on Panarea is a perfect retreat! We had a wonderful experience before and during our stay. Communication was easy and Barbara was very responsive at all the right times. It was our first time to Panarea and so we we're so familiar with the way the island runs...Barbara's instructions and availability via message as we arrived made things easy! She arranged transport for us from the port, which was great. The house itself is in a wonderful location, situated about halfway between the port and a little sandy beach, and very near a trattoria if you don't feel like cooking but don't want to walk into town. The house has a classic beach house vibe, the view from the roof terrace is beautiful and peaceful, and the many different outdoor seating options (on two levels!) for lounging and cooking all enhanced our experience. Thank you Barbara! We'll be back.

An absolutely stunning house in a beautiful location the terrace is amazing and a lovely place to relax and while away the day (and evening). I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
