First of all Katia is a great host. She is very responsive and super helpful. The casita itself is beautiful and actually rather big. It has a small living room and a bedroom and a big outside kitchen. All surrounded by beautiful jungle. It is at the end of a little village and therefore very quiet and peaceful. There are some small shops at walking distance that sell anything you need to cook yourself. As well as some restaurants and even wineries. Highly recommended!

Katia's Puka Wasi is a fantastic place to stay. It's located in a small village called San Antonio outside of the busyness of Tarapoto but still only a short mototaxi ride away, that costs only 6 or 7 soles. The village and it's surrounds are beautiful. There is a huge shallow, slow flowing river, that runs the whole length of the village and up into the foot of the mountains that line the horizon, which you can follow for miles up into the forest, seeing amazing plants, butterflies, birds and a variety of other natural wonders. There are fruit trees such as coconut, mango, cocao and others providing a free selection of delicious ripe fruit surrounding the property and throughout the area. Being right in nature, there are mosquitoes and other insects, but the hosts provided mosquito coils to use outside, which keep them at bay. The property it's self if spotlessly clean, secure, thoughtfully decorated and has a fully equipped kitchen, with stove, oven, large fridge freezer, a blender, and all the cutlery and pots and pans you could need. There is also a washing machine to do laundry, as well as extremely fast and reliable wifi, and an electric shower for hot water (both of which are rare luxuries in a lot of accommodation in Peru), and the bed is possibly the most comfortable I have slept in during my three months travelling in the country. The host Katia and her husband are both lovely people that were very helpful and communicative from beginning to end, and even offered me an extra night for free when I was delayed by a day in arriving there through no fault of their's. I can't imagine a better place to stay for anyone visiting Tarapoto or the area, and the price is excellent for the quality of the property and experience provided, superior to any far more expensive hotel I have stayed in in Peru. I would recommend it to anyone, and will definitely book it again if I return to the area in future.

Una casa preciosa decorada con muy buen gusto frente al río, en un pueblito precioso. Katia y su esposo fueron muy amables, comunicativos y nos dieron toda la información y ayuda que necesitamos para pasar unos días muy divertidos y relajantes. Está equipado con todo lo necesario para sentirse muy cómodo. Totalmente recomendado!

Un espacio para conectar con el silencio interior y descansar del ritmo ajetreado que se respira en las grandes ciudades. En el espacio de Katia podrán descansar y estar en contacto con la naturaleza en toda su expresión.
