This house was so cute. It was perfect for my family to stay for my graduation. I loved all the old details. I think my favorite was the old camera’s on the shelf in one of the bedrooms.

Such a beautiful home in a beautiful spot. We were two families visiting Northampton/Amherst for college family weekend, and we couldn't find any accommodations close. This is the same distance as Springfield, but in such a beautiful spot. The home is lovely, and had plenty of space for all of us. And the river across the street was spellbinding. It moderately accessible, but if you can safely make your way down the short trail, you will be rewarded by a serene sight and perfect spot for meditation. We will definitely plan to return next year!

I was quite disappointed when we arrived. The bathrooms were dirty and obviously had been showered in and had not been cleaned. The towels were very worn and needed replacing. The kitchen sink was dirty and the floors were only clean where there was no furniture. I dropped something and had to reach under the dresser to get it. I came out with dust and cobwebs. I complained to my host and he was very apologetic and said he had had the house professionally cleaned the day before we arrived. He asked what could be done and I asked for new bath towels. I went to the store and got cleaning supplies and cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen sink. The host came through with the towels and I was refunded the cleaning fee. All in all it’s a great house just needs a good old fashioned deep cleaning and it would be a great stay! I love the charm and authenticity of the home and furnishings. Love the house hate the dirt!!!

The house is indeed charming. The furniture and the floors reminded me of my grand parents' house build sometime in the second half of the XIXth century. The walls seem new and there are modern kitchen appliances available. Also the bathroom showers and sinks are modern. There is a large collection of movies to watch and play station 2 games to play. The internet is also good and reliable downstairs. In some of the bedrooms not that reliable. On the down side, when we arrived everything was dusty, like no-one has stepped into the house for a long while. Towels and linen seemed clean but rather worn. The porcelain was lovely, but the frying pans and other cooking dishes, were heavily scratched inside, even rusted, but plenty. The doors were rather flimsy, and the window air conditioner let in the noise from out side. The location is secluded, but you can hear the train quite close and there were many trains passing till midnight. The river is down a steep slope and not navigable.

Beautiful house, the furnishings and decor fit the house perfectly. Quiet surroundings. The house fit 6 of us comfortably. Enough room to be together or go do your own thing. I would definitely stay here again,
