The gite is situated in the Bordeaux wine region and wine tasting and vineyard tours can be arranged for you or you can simply have great fun driving around the vineyards yourselves.
As well as this, there are plenty of other things for you to do including canoeing along the Dordogne River which is about ten minutes away - the river is calm and easy to navigate and you'll really enjoy taking in the nature passing your way, using all your senses, as you glide towards a local restaurant for lunch.
You will also love sampling the great food and other goodies on sale every day at the local markets or visiting some of the beautiful towns and cities nearby such as Bordeaux or Bergerac.
Saint Émilion is our nearest world heritage site which is about 25 minutes away and offers some amazing restaurants and shops. Here you can take in the picturesque views across the village and beyond as well as watching the world go by as you enjoy an amazing glass of Bordeaux wine and enjoy a leisurely and delicious lunch or dinner.
Further afield, and not to be missed is the biggest dune in Europe, the Dune du Pilat, situated on the Atlantic coast. Whilst there you can visit the Bay of Arcachon and sample the local sea food.

There are also some wonderful rivers and lakes nearby to do a spot of fishing.
You can also enjoy a game of golf in St Émilion or at the Château de Vigiers where there is also a Michelin starred restaurant.

There are some great walking, running and cycling routes in the local area but you do need a car to get around.
