I would really recommend staying at Raja's family home. It's simple and clean, they are very hospitable. We had a lovely chat with Raja and his wife about their life, my only regret is we couldn't stay longer! A very short walk from the beautiful Nilaveli beach.

We stayed two nights in rajas home to explore pigeon island and the beaches. Fot these activities rajas home is seriously perfect. Its 150 m from the beach,cheap restaursnt are close by and the boats to pigeon island or any other maritime activities leave just at the waterfront. If you stroll down the beach you'll find yourself almost alone. Raja is a lovely host!! He brought us coffee every morning and was ready to give as everything we needed. The address is not on google maps so we called him and he picked us up at a nearby restaurant. The rooms are basic but clean and we definitley recommend to stay here!! We had a great time. P.S.: Not all reviews are on airbnb as he hosts since 2013 (prior airbnb times ;)) There is a notebook with 'thank yous' from prior guest who enjoyed their time there.

Raja is a wonderful host and his place is sparkling clean and very close to both the beach and the seafood restaurant. It's simple but everything you need to enjoy nilaveli.

Nice and peaceful familiystay very close to the pretty beach of Nillaveli. The guesthouse is well renovated by Raja himself. The family lives in a small house next door. Although their English is rather limited they are very welcomming to their guests. Don't expect hotel luxury, but the room has all facilities necessary for a short stay to explore the beaches. The guesthouse doesn't provide any breakfast, but we can recommend going to Cafe Nillaveli just around the corner for a good start of the day.
