I was really looking forward to the stay as I had heard so many good things about this place. When I got there, the security guards were not around to let me through the gates and I had to wait a while. When I got inside, i was shown to another house as the one I had booked had an occupant who had been there for some time (almost a year according to the security guard). The alternative I was given, was extremely grubby. The cooker looked like it hadnt been cleaned for some time and there were grease marks all over the wall. When I tried to get in touch the host was unresponsive. when I used the numbers from the Mabuya Camp Website, they mentioned that they manage the house on behalf of the host, but any complaints should be directed to him. There was no wifi, restaurant, breakfast and the pool was full of green water with black slime on the inside of the walls. I had to get in touch with Airbnb to get a refund as i had booked the house for a month. I felt very sorry for the place.

Tom’s place is great. You have the luxury of your own private space but the convenience of being on the hostel grounds. It’s quiet but you can walk a few steps to the bar or to order food. The location is also very good.

This was my second stay in this house and it was comfortable, safe and had all accommodations needed! I would recommend to anyone looking for a safe, home rental in Lilongwe.
