Mijn vader en ik werden vriendelijk ontvangen door host Mandy. We kregen tips voor restaurants in de buurt en een suggestie voor een wandeling in de omgeving. Het appartement is sfeervol Scandinavisch ingericht. De omgeving is heel mooi en betrekkelijk rustig. De paarden staan ‘s nachts op stal in de belendende ruimte. Dat kun je horen aan het hoefgetrappel en briesen in de nacht. Ik werd er even wakker van, maar viel door de verder stille omgeving weer snel in slaap. De dag erop vertrokken om een wandeling te maken in de werkelijk schitterende omgeving. Aanrader!

We had a wonderful stay at Mandy’s. The place is beautiful and perfect if you are looking for a peaceful place to connect with nature, hike and/or go on long bike rides. Mandy is a great host, always willing to help and checking to make sure we felt at home. The newly built garden was a big plus and made our stay during a hot weekend very pleasant and enjoyable. Definitely planning to go back

What a wonderful place for a peaceful country retreat. Mandy and Corné’s place, located on the edge of the village Chaam was our base for a short trip to the Netherlands to visit Keukenhof garden. We were met by the hosts who showed us in. The space is a large open plan, L shaped lounge and dining area with a kitchen off to the side. The log burner was easy to light and there was plenty of fuel. There was also a portable radiator and a fixed heater in the bathroom. The floors are concrete, so thick socks or slippers would be suggested in cooler months. The place is located on a small equine ground, so there are cats, dogs and horses for company and entertainment. All were friendly, especially Elvis the black and white cat who made friends with us very quickly. The bed was firm but comfortable and checkout was as easy as check-in. If you are looking for a peaceful place in the Dutch countryside within east reach of places like Keukenhof, this is a great place to stay.
