This is a beautiful remote property with plenty of trees, privacy and wildlife. What unfortunately I didn't really think about or enquire about was there was no couch or supportive chairs to sit on. I have a back injury and with only hard surfaces to sit on, I was in agony. If you have no problem sitting on a wooden surface and a few cushions you may be fine. We also struggled with lack of flyscreens. I get the fact that may affect the aesthetics of the design, but as soon as you open the doors, the flys rush in and if you keep the doors closed its hot and stuffy. One comfy chair and flyscreen is all the place needed...but if your ok without those things then it is certainly worth a visit.

We loved our time here, surrounded by wildlife and nature. The house is simply, yet beautifully designed and everything is functional and comfortable. Particularly loved the silence and lack of internet, allowing us to completely unwind. The bath was absolutely superb, lying back looking out at the highland was the highlight of our stay. Great location and close to the Briny hotel and the home made bread stop. Thank you Sophia for sharing your very special spot with us, it was a true treat!

The place was beautiful, very peaceful and a great area to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. I appreciated that Sophia allowed me to reschedule my visit, due to personal reasons.

The cabin is beautiful, and we had a lovely stay. You feel at home when you arrive, and the surroundings are peaceful and tranquil. The space is well designed: when the sliding doors are open, you feel one with nature, and when they are closed, the cabin feels intimate while offering comfort. The wood stove was excellent and practical for heating the place at night; we also enjoyed using its oven for cooking. The drive up, as everyone says, is easier if you have a vehicle with high clearance. We managed with a 2007 Toyota Corolla, just driving slowly; however, I imagine the terrain conditions might change according to the season. We saved our outdoor bath for the last day, and we were more conservative with energy usage on the day to allow for the bath. It was indeed an incredible feature and highlight of the stay. There was a gentle drizzle, and it was magical to bathe outside and relax with nature.

We had a beautiful stay at Sophia’s Bruny hideaway. What a relaxing and beautifully designed spot to slow down and recharge. As per other reviews would recommend 4WD/higher vehicle for access due to the country road being rough in spots. We hope to be back one day!
