We had the most incredible few days staying in the cottage. The location is perfect, secluded and quiet, the cottage is so cosy and comfortable and Jane was a charming and helpful host, making us feel really welcome, even checking we were ok after a big storm and posting our son’s mislaid pyjamas back! We will not hesitate to rebook the next time we are lucky enough to return to West Cork. Thank you Jane and Thomas.

Our stay in Thomas and Jane’s sea side cottage couldn’t have been any better! Actually that’s not true, we should have booked two weeks, it was so amazing. The cottage, the location, the scenery even the weather was perfect. The extra touches on arrival made it so welcoming. Fresh bread and local cheese on the cutting board. The fairy lights in the staircase. The toiletries in the bathroom, with the soft, fluffy warm towels and the best surprise of all…electric blankets turned on for our first night. Bliss!!! That was just on our first hour in the cottage. The rest of the week was just as good, with a well stocked kitchen, the best produce found at the local farmer’s market and amazing sea food from the local fishermen at Union Hall’s fishmonger and smoke house. We spent a lot of time just looking out to sea, spotting the seals, sea birds and not to forget the very friendly Robin (if you are patient, he will come feed from your hand). Evenings spent by the fire reading. Amazing!

Even better than description and photos, which to be fair was pretty fabulous. Stunning seaside location with unimpeded views. Quiet, private and cozy. Critical amenities on point including fast internet and hot shower with great water pressure. Good selection of streaming platforms for quiet nights “at home”. Very clean and tastefully decorated, kitchen well appointed. Fresh baked bread and cut flowers on arrival. Magical walks right outside the door, and obviously…the sea! Mary Ann’s pub in the village is fabulous. I hope this will be the first of many visits. Loved every minute.
